I kinda hate to say it but, I've had to put the Chevelle on the back burner for now to finish that 72 Cutlass I bought back in September. I want to give the chevelle a proper restoration, but I would only have till June to finish it because my new fiance' wants to use one of the cars as our get away car after the wedding. I don't have the time or funds to get the chevelle in proper shape by then, but she has already told me I can get back on the chevelle after the wedding though :)

lol yeah that is the day i am waiting for. but to be honest i bought the car because of her. She actually went to a car show with me and i told her to find a car that she really really likes and tell me which one to get. She walked around with me at the car show remember now my daughter was like 1 and a half at the time. She walked with me and picked a 66 mid night black chevelle. Which is why in a way i want a 66 chevelle kind of badly. But when i found this 69 chevelle i took her with me and said to her "what do you think?" here was her answer

so i couldn't pass that up. as for her driving she is ready...lol click on the picture and you will see her doing her burn out!

That is so cool...........wont be too long........Dad, we're going to the strip......wanna come along??

SS Shaun 01-14-2014 01:27 PM

LOL yeah really

maboyuan 01-15-2014 12:26 AM

When my daughter was 3, all she ever asked of me was to drive her to daycare in my 70 Chevelle. That, and to put on Down with the Sickness while we drove. Righteous :-)

There a new paint scheme for your car. You could have matching cars. Lol

SS Shaun 01-15-2014 08:32 AM

SS Shaun 01-16-2014 07:30 PM

For the first time in 2 months, my car might actually be running correctly with the FAST EZ-EFI 2.0 system. There is a long thread about it here, http://www.cpgnation.com/forum/ez-ef...ror-30624.html but it has been the biggest pain in the ass I've dealt with on this car to-date.

Anyway, put it on the dyno and made some nice power and new bests with the car! This is with the car barely having any WOT pulls and still learning air/fuel so it should have only gotten better if we kept pulling it. Some obviously came from the EFI system and some likely came from the Lemon's 2" headers.

It did lose about 25hp with the cutouts open.

Shaun, car is looking and sounds great! What are you gonna do next to it? Paint?

SS Shaun 01-20-2014 10:49 AM

yes sir. I wasn't going to paint it yet but i started to remove the stripes on the side and i noticed that the person before me didn't use enough yellow paint under the stripes. it was almost like he painted the stripes then painted the car. so under the stripes is the factory green. if anyone in the world knows me the one color i HATE is green so my daughters paint job is going to come into play

SS Shaun 01-22-2014 12:15 PM

started the removal of all the stripes removed all of the trim and going to remove the bumpers today or tomorrow i hope. get the rest of the things that need to be covered covered and getting it ready for paint :)

Sounds like you are keeping busy in the arctic air.

flash 01-22-2014 08:08 PM

I walked around my Chevelle and El Camino a few times today while gathering more truck stuff to go to the bodyshop. I have been too busy gathering fire wood to play with the cars ,but I do visit the bodyshop pretty often .

I am so jealous. It has been snowing and the temps are in the single digits.

flash 01-26-2014 07:01 PM

We actually planned on getting the vert out and giving it a bath after church but took a nap instead trying to get over a high pressure headache .

Ms Grumpy 01-28-2014 05:46 PM

So when is the last time you took out the vert flash ?

flash 01-28-2014 06:48 PM

Not since the second saturday in December ,went to Nashville for a club Christmas party .Joan says we may have to drive it in the snow tomorrow since my truck is sitting on the side of the road and hers is in town at work.

Hank70SS 01-29-2014 07:00 AM

Nothing, it's sitting under a cover with a battery maintainer hooked up. It's going to stay that way for at least a couple more months.

Nothing here either. My dad and I had two cars in the PA Auto Show all weekend, SSR and the Z06. I was sitting next to a nice Chevelle though.

flash, So how did Joan get home ?

flash 01-29-2014 08:09 PM

Her brother went after her in his 4x4 truck while I started walking ,they drove 6 miles home and I walked about that and I got home an hour before they did as they had to keep hunting routes that were not blocked by stranded cars .They were planning on picking me up on the way back but it didnt work out. We tried to get my truck home today but the roads were worse today ,solid ice.

I've decided to finish the chevelle and sell the cutlass I was going to do. So I got started on fixing the damage to the cowl that no one bothered to fix years ago when it was in a wreck before I bought it. (Love finding surprises). I've never replaced welded in panels before but tonight I got the old one cut out and new one fitted. Attachment 3104Attachment 3105Attachment 3106

Nice, this is one of my next step and I too have NO experience. Did you drill out the spots or actually cut them?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Quadracer392 01-31-2014 05:21 AM

I used a spot weld cutting drill bit on what I could get to and then used an air hammer with a really sharp chisel bit and cut through the rest. Just be careful at the angle and pressure you use with the air hammer because you can blow right through the pieces you are not wanting to cut away.

Went to impromptu cruise in at Starbucks this morning. I guess they have it every Saturday, but I just heard about it a few days ago. Had a good time and saw a few nice cars to boot. Also got the car picture taken for a tee shirt.

Christmas came early this year. Most of the sheetmetal I need for the car showed up yesterday and today. I'd say there is enough to keep me busy for a little while.

Looks like the fun is about to begin. I lucked out, all my sheet metal only needed minor repair. Keep us posted on your progress.

Ray, I wish was lucky enough to find a good solid car but for the price I paid I couldn't expect to much. I just wish I wasn't on such a short time frame, but I'm just making this a nice driver so the small details aren't a big deal.
