Glad you found such an awesome deal. I need to find that kind of deal on a trailer.

Thanks Nancy. Used trailers are hard to find that someone doesn't want almost new price for one. Took me almost a year to find the one I wanted. The trailer should look a lot better once I get the new rims and tires on it.

I had a nice car trailer several years a go that I thought would never sell ,I was the 2nd owner and made many improvements over the years I had it and it finally sold for $800 ,you would not believe the lowball offers I had on it .I had one guy offer me $200 and he would take it away ,I told him for that little $$ that it would go in the pasture and rot first.

shadowgray396 04-20-2014 08:15 PM

Worked on the car trailer getting it ready for summer use. Painted the wheel wells and springs and started to clean it up some. I use it for the long distance car shows I go to with the Chevelle. Test fitted the new tires and wheels. Need to go get chrome center caps and some lugs for it. That will have to wait for a couple of weeks since I'm leaving on a road trip for work.

flash 04-20-2014 08:27 PM

Those look good . We took the vert out cruising up in the mountains today ,we had a blast .Im off work tomorrow so I will be here at home cutting and splitting freshly cut wood and working on my driveway .The tree cutters made quite a mess getting those big trees down for me .

chevymaher 04-21-2014 07:14 PM

I been working and Easter had me running and distracted. Tomorrow I got a hole in the schedule I can do something for at least a few hours. I successfully allowed the dash paint to cure and didn't destroy it. Score one for being busy else where. So I got to prime the lower dash and a few spots in the hood jamb. So I be a taping fool tomorrow.

Ms Grumpy 04-22-2014 12:17 PM

I made the appointment. I am picking up my car tomorrow from the storage place. Woo Hoo !!! I am so excited.

Ken Hayes 04-22-2014 12:19 PM

Kool beans.

RBeckman 04-22-2014 12:52 PM

Ken Hayes 04-22-2014 04:14 PM

You gonna be ready for May 4th @ Bakers?

RBeckman 04-22-2014 04:19 PM

Camaro for sure...just need to clean the dust off it. Chevelle if I get time to install the tank, lines, straps, sending unit.

Burnout time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

chevymaher 04-23-2014 12:27 PM

I finished prepping the dash and glove box. I doing the inside of the glove box this trip. Outside next. It all masked. Humidity is perfect. I got to get the wife soon from school. I am basically waiting for the temp to reach the expected high. I am on marine alert. Hurry up and wait.

chevymaher 04-23-2014 01:41 PM

Aint lookin good staying to cold and wife is being real late.

Ms Grumpy 04-23-2014 08:55 PM

I picked up my car today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooked up the battery, turned the key just enough to let the fuel pump do it's job. It took two tries and she started right up. A little feather footing it and she was running on her own. I was a giddy little girl, now I just had to get it out of the storage garage. And let me tell you it was a tight squeeze in some spots. Brian, the manager is awesome, he walked me thru every tight corner and ramp. I got outside, put the plate sticker on, pulled out of the parking lot....

and did a BURNOUT !!!!! I just couldn't resist. It wasn't a huge one but just enough to get my blood pumping.

Brought it home and as soon as my brother got out of work I went to his house and picked him up. I brought him back to my house and he drove my car back to his house. You know what, this was the first time that someone else was actually driving my car since the rebuild, other than having test drives after repairs. It was a really strange feeling.

While my brother was driving to his house I could see that he really wanted to get on it, but the slow movers always seemed to be in front of him. Then we were making a left turn onto a 45mph street and I thought here is his chance. But NOOOOOO, what was sitting at the corner....a cop.... I couldn't help but laugh. We made the left and as soon as the cop was out of sight I got beside him and egged him on to "get on it". He did and when we got to his house he still had a huge smile on his face. Now comes more waiting as he installs the mufflers and re does the seats. I have realized that I have so many parts that are barely used that we have changed, like the seat covers that are in it they may have been in the car for 3 years and are still in like new condition.

flash 04-23-2014 09:08 PM

Congrats on bringing it home .

shadowgray396 04-23-2014 09:43 PM

Always fun to drive them.

chevymaher 04-24-2014 03:50 PM

9 hours of masking today for the under hood jamming and the window tracks. I am tired. 16 miles of tape and plastic. And i still got a few more hours left. Have I mentioned I hate finding overspray?

shadowgray396 04-24-2014 06:21 PM

It will all be worth it in the end. Time for a beer and relax.

I totally agree Ray. Every minute of thought and work that we put into our cars is so worth it. Especially when you get behind the wheel and it drives just the way you want it to, at least for 5 minutes. (Sorry couldn't resist) lol

Hank70SS 04-25-2014 06:29 PM

Pulled the intake manifold off. I know the gaskets are leaking and it was sucking oil. Ken's post about Baker's starting up in a few weeks got me thinking, it happens sometimes, better get it running right now. Don't want to tear into in the middle of the summer.

carpoor 04-26-2014 07:22 AM

Received a mint driver's side tail light housing for the 69' yesterday. Mine is slightly tweaked. Much to do today, more on that later...

BillsCamino 04-30-2014 05:20 PM

Swapped in a 3.31 posi 12 bolt rearend under the wagon today.
Heading to the driveshaft shop tomorrow morning to get a new one the correct length made up.
Some exhaust work, wire up the HEI, change the oil, and this thing should be ready to run.

shadowgray396 04-30-2014 10:43 PM

Bill sounds like you are getting close

BillsCamino 05-01-2014 06:27 AM

Very close Ray...should be running soon.

Strange thing...removed the valve covers which are chrome to replace them with paint ones which is correct for a non-SS Chevelle big block.
Heads are FRESH, aftermarket springs, studs, guide plates AND have full roller rockers. Head bolts are Manley.
Makes me wonder what cam is in there...

flash 05-01-2014 08:49 AM

Bill ,Im looking forward to seeing your upgrades at Peachstate saturday evening sometime ,got to work first half of the day.

BillsCamino 05-01-2014 05:28 PM

Dropped the driveshaft off @ 9:45am...got a phone call @ 12:15pm...DONE!!!
New tube, u-joints, new TH400 yoke, balanced. Reused the original joint end caps.
Pretty black paint job...now resides under the wagon.
Hopefully can get into the Muffler shop sometime tomorrow to install the new downpipes.
Waiting on FedEx to deliver a new alternator 6 groove pulley that's been in-route from Summit GA for three days.
Got delayed in that awful shooting...:(
Prime the engine, stab the distributor, and fire it up tomorrow AM hopefully.

flash 05-01-2014 08:07 PM

That FedEx shooting delayed my radiator too ,I hear it came in today though ,sad situation there .

shadowgray396 05-02-2014 12:10 AM

Makes you wonder what these people are thinking.

BillsCamino 05-02-2014 06:28 AM

Strange...my FedEx box was delivered at 9:45pm last night. Noticed it at the side door when I let the dog out this morning.
I had checked the tracking number late yesterday around dinner time...showed delayed due to "weather".

flash 05-02-2014 08:35 AM

Since the shooting all their tracking is messed up ,the bodyshop said their usual deliveries are much later than usual . You got the wagon ready to go yet ?

Well...yes and no...

Wagon ran for twenty minutes today...until a BRAND NEW fuel pump decided to cease doing it's intended thing.
Ran just long enough to warm up, top off fluids, set timing, and adjust carb.
Going out now to pick a replacement one up...of course, not in stock earlier today so had to wait for the afternoon parts delivery from the warehouse.
Strange that no one around here (AZ, O'Reilly, Advance) stocks a big block OEM type fuel pump.
Consequently, missed my afternoon Muffler Shop appointment. :(

So...no Chevelle Show WITH Chevelle for me although we'll be there.
Be sure to look me up John...$$ ;)

flash 05-02-2014 04:13 PM

Bill ,sorry to hear the wagon wont be there ,was looking forward to seeing the upgrades .

carpoor 05-02-2014 07:06 PM

Ray, I found this image online of a 72' W-code car without AC. The orange wire looks like the one in my engine bay - it appears to run to the heater box. (for the fan motor, I think?) Anyhow, I don't believe I need it, my car has AC. Not sure why they put that in my harness? It's an American Autowire harness IIRC. Now I am just down to the one black wire I can't figure out.

shadowgray396 05-02-2014 10:47 PM

You are correct.

Hank70SS 05-03-2014 07:10 AM

Put the intake manifold back on. Distributor and valve covers are on. Have to put on cap and wires, hook up alt and fill the rad.

May have found why I've had a problem getting the gaskets to seal. There is a metal tray that sits over the lifter valley. Three tabs on each side clip over bottom edge of head and stick up enough that 2 of the 3 are sandwiched between head and intake. Maybe keeping the intake from pulling down tight against gaskets. Trimmed them off so we'll see.

carpoor 05-03-2014 07:36 AM

I guess my harness is a multi fit? Because it also had the wiring to my AC box. Maybe when I redo this car in another 10-15 years, I will pull out the harness and remove the wires I do not need.

Ms Grumpy 05-03-2014 07:29 PM

flash did your UPS have a shooting ?

shadowgray396 05-03-2014 07:48 PM

Went to Cruise today and had this picture made for the garage.
