IT RUNS!!!
Moved out of the shop and sitting on my driveway. I'll give it a bath later and on to the Muffler Shop in the AM.
Sorry for crappy cell phone pics...bright sunny day reflecting on chrome stuff...will post better later.

shadowgray396 05-04-2014 05:03 PM

Looking good. Time for some 3" exhaust?

flash 05-04-2014 06:14 PM

Congrats Bill ,looks good ,sorry we missed you yesterday . Cant wait to see the wagon.

BillsCamino 05-04-2014 06:22 PM

Thanks Ray.
Nope...stock iron exhaust manifolds, Gardner big block 2 1/2" down pipes, mating to existing Walker OEM replacement mufflers and side exit OEM tails...mufflers and tails I put on last year.
Wagon needs to be quiet...Grand kids ride in the 3rd seat. Plus this old man likes to drive long distances in this. Attended the OH show...among others...last year with it.

Next step is A/C...underdash unit to look like a Dealer installation.

SS Shaun 05-04-2014 09:54 PM

Oh it will. I went from having plenty of room between my legs and the steering wheel when getting in and out... to wanting a tilt column. (And eventually installing one) Made me realize how broken down the old foams were.

I never thought about that. hmmm. I know that I was happy that when I picked my car up out of storage that the seat belt was easier to put on because I have lost 50lbs since the beginning of the year. But now I have to wonder about the clearance like you said. I was told that the seats do make you sit up higher, besides the fact that I also replaced the bottom seat springs. I was considering a smaller stearing wheel down the road, maybe that will be sooner than later. We will see.

I will be stuck in Belton, South Carolina late Friday and all day Saturday. I am taking my smoker and smoking Pulled Pork for 60-70 people and I think they might be a little upset with me if I backed out right now. From my understanding I will only be about 45 minutes from where you will be. You and Joan are more than welcome to come and eat with us. We are planning to leave from our hotel on Sunday morning to head back home. Are you guys planning on staying overnight til Sunday ?

flash 05-05-2014 08:55 PM

We will be staying overnight and leaving sometime sunday ,maybe we can meet up .

Ms Grumpy 05-06-2014 09:37 PM

Chevelle sits in the garage with the rain. Not been home in awhile so it's just sitting. Did manage to catch a car show in Sequim Washington yesterday at lunch.

shadowgray396 05-12-2014 10:24 PM

Look much better. Glad you found the correct seats.

SS Shaun 05-13-2014 10:42 AM

i got really lucky i meet him at a swap meet and sure enough he had them. He said it was sitting in the garage storage for over 20 years! all we did was put some VLR cleaner on it and boom they came out like that! getting so ready to drive it again!

Ken Hayes 05-13-2014 10:46 AM

Lookin a lot better.

shadowgray396 05-16-2014 11:31 PM

Got my wife to have a garage sale today and she got rid of all the furniture that we have been storing for here mother. I finally will be able to walk around the garage again when I get home. Will be nice to have my space back. Might even to be able to see the Chevelle again.

flash 05-17-2014 07:26 AM

Taking the truck to a parade and 2 cruise ins today ,its a little cool for the convertible with temps now in the mid 40's .

Ms Grumpy 05-17-2014 09:24 PM

I dreamed of my car today. I have been doing an Arts and Craft Show with my daughter Lauren since Friday and my car is sitting in my brothers garage. Every night when I get out of the show at 9pm it is raining so I have not been able to pick up my car. Keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday after 6pm when I get out of there.

SS Shaun 05-17-2014 10:48 PM

I have not touched it since i put the seats in. so depressed to much house work!! :( i will get back to it this week!!

RBeckman 05-19-2014 09:13 PM

Pulled the tank that was 3/4 full and took a gas bath getting it down. This is where not having it on the lift would have been better as I could have used the floor jack to move it around. This is what I get for doing this stuff by myself and not waiting for help.

FlintTony 05-20-2014 04:59 AM

Ric, why did you have to pull the tank?

Leaking at the seam when I started it this spring. I got a new tank, sending unit, straps and rubber fuel lines that I'm replacing. The tank was pretty beat up as well and it looks like it has not been touched since 1969.
