Tinkered with the Carb a little, replaced a bunch of vac lines and added a 1in spacer between the Carb. Now there's no more than an inch between the Carb and hood. Looks like ill be getting a new hood soon.

After 2 years of my sw gauges being in the car I finally hooked up the lights and after that I was feelin ambitious so I grabbed my autometer sport comp tach and put it in. Only sat in my box for 4 years. Friend called when I was Doin it and called me a lire. So I snapped pics and sent em

lol only took you 4 years thats funny! i have not done much since i finished the one side of the axle, i am saving for a set of springs for the rear so i can put it all together at one time
Suspension is next for me. I bought hotchkis a arms and rear links almost 3 years ago and haven't got around to putting em on because I couldn't figure out my wheel/tire and ride height I wanted but I think I made up my mind.....I think, give me another year and ill know for sure. Lol

lol i just ordered my rear suspension for my chevelle so i can put my rear end all together this weekend i hope! i kind of have to finish it this weekend so i can have room in my garage to move stuff around
Yah its easier only Doin things once especially when you know your taking a bunch of stuff out and you want to replace it all. I was reading through and I see all these threads about long builds well I think I won. Got the car when I was 14 and im 22 now and still no where near finished. I spent most of those years living at home and buying stuff I needed and rat holing everything and just tinkering with what was on the car but im starting to forget where I put my stuff. I swear I can find half my stuff now after getting married and buying a house. I swear my wifes hiding my parts so I don't lock myself in the garage and work on my car all the time.

LOL i know my wife hides stuff on me
Well after this talk of suspension I got a little motivation as I was browsing through cragslist this morning I came across some brand new hotchkis springs for 75 bucks. They were suppose to be stock height but they ended up being 1in drop springs but it didn't really matter so I bought em. So they went on tonight with the rest of my rear end parts. Once I was done putting the new springs and links on my rear I decided to pull the front springs and trim em down a little. Well im half way there and gave up on the passenger side. It wont break loose so I gave up for the night. Probably finish it Sunday after church.

lol hey at least you worked on it. i should have a package at the house from summit so sunday my rear will be complete!

Still havent done anything with the Chevelle but I do hope to get the El Camino out this weekend .

Yah I took it for a drive and it seems to be good. I think it will do good but Ill know for sure at the track tomorrow
Fat fingered from the phone-Corey |
nice got it done and ready for the road! good stuff! good luck tomorrow
Pulled a 9.83 at 132. Pulled the shocks off the car and lowered the tire pressure and pulled a 9.80 at 130 and lost 2 tenths on my reaction but picked up my 60ft. Went fast enough to get kicked off the track for good until my car meets the requirements for the sport com class. Either way im happy
good stuff man! well i didnt get to put my rear in this weekend because the wife made me do other things. But i did get the rear axle all together now and its ready to go in. both axles are in and the locker is all in place. all i need to do is put the axle under the car and bolt it on :)
I exercised mine today, being it was so nice out.The wife had her black car right behind me.
I was at my in-laws on Saturday and I lifted the car cover to see if she was still there.
I moved the 72 vert out of the shop and pulled the 72 El Camino out of its corner and took it for a ride. Its time the Elky got a few miles put on her and cleaned too.
Walk by mine this weekend, still covered with no progress for the last month or so. To busy these days to work on it.
Im driving the Elky today but dont tell anyone. Im going to let the rain rinse the dust off her and drive her to the bodyshop to check on my truck and have her looked at as well.
i moved the rear under the car lastnight...lol
I moved the car over 2 feet via wheel dollies to get the boat motor in the garage. And guess what I found, oil drips on the ground and the oil pan. Looks like that motor is coming out next.
Fat fingered from the phone-Corey |
I moved the vert into the Elky's spot in the garage today and will drive the Elky again tomorrow.
I didn't do anything, but my 9 year old son was showing off to his school buddies!
My mother in law picks up our 2 boys (6 and 9) from their school, just down the street. She called me and said Michael came into the house, used the garage opener and ran out to the garage without saying a word to her. She went out to see what he was doing and he pulled the car cover off the Chevelle and was showing about 6 boys the car. I guess they didn't believe him when he told them about my car. My mother in law said it funny to watch him yank the car cover off like a magician doing a trick and watch his friends jaws hit the ground when they saw the car. She said I am the cool dad now to all of his classmates! |
I made a big ole' list of things to buy for the Chevelle. Big plans a brewin'
I aired up the rear shocks at lunch today on the El Camino and drove it up to the bodyshop to visit my old truck after work.Boy I miss my old beater truck.
well with all this storm and rain i was more worried about my rx7 sitting in the new garage (one of those portable car ports) then anything. but the car port did really well i am just going to make 2 more braces for the roof and it should be good to go for the rest of the winter.
I thought about starting tell re-do on the rear suspension.
I bought another one! This will be a parts car for the first one. A more door sedan 300. I should be cruising in style in a few months!
I walked into the shop and looked at the vert and the Elky for just a minute ,then turned the lights off and walked back to the house. They both need to be cleaned more but just cant get into it until after Christmas.
