I washed my 72' yesterday. It hadn't been washed in who knows how long. :(

BillsCamino 05-20-2014 04:09 PM

Trying to work out a little carb issue (SMI Q-jet) on the wagon.
Might just swap on a Holley until I find the issue. Holleys are so much more inside my comfort zone!!

flash 05-20-2014 08:04 PM

I did nothing after work today ,feel like crap so I have been laying on the couch ,truck is back at bodyshop.

Ms Grumpy 05-20-2014 08:11 PM

Why is your truck back at the body shop flash ?

SS Shaun 05-20-2014 09:11 PM

i started mine up since i need some kind of motivation

flash 05-20-2014 09:26 PM

They are going to install my aluminum radiator and clutch fan to hopefully get my overheating problem fixed ,I was going to do it but Im a bit under the weather .They are also fixing some smaller issues like horn not working ,1 backup light not working .They were slow this week so I decided to let them have it for a few days .Everywhere I take the truck it draws a crowd ,I had one lady ask if it was for sale as she loved it and she isnt a car person.

Ms Grumpy 05-21-2014 06:54 PM

I hope you don't have any plans on selling it. David and I are looking to take the kids on a vacation down south to some of the historical sites. I told him if we do then we are definately going to go all the way down to Georgia and see your car collection. So you better keep it around for a long time.

flash 05-21-2014 08:11 PM

Its not for sale ,its a keeper ,it came home today and is running nice and cool with the air on high.

chevymaher 05-22-2014 06:23 AM

I about to go to work. But I did go down and just sit in her a few minutes and drink some coffee. Feel like a little kid sitting in Dad's car pretending to drive.

shadowgray396 05-22-2014 08:08 AM

Going home today, hope to get mine out over the weekend. Might even do a car show on Sunday.

BillsCamino 05-22-2014 07:10 PM

Finally got mine running well enough to drive around a little this afternoon!!
The SMI carb I've been dealing with is going out for repair. Replaced it for now with a Summit rebuilt Qjet I had ordered yesterday & was delivered this AM.
Took a gamble on buying it but it does work satisfactory.

If you pull the summit carb off and decide to sell it, hit me up. The ramp truck could use a new q-jet but as little as I use it I haven't been too motivated to work on it.

Will do Eric!! ;)
Bought this one...

Try Ken @ everyday performance. I was VERY happy with the QJet he rebuilt for my Monte Carlo.

RBeckman 05-23-2014 12:32 PM

I've had SMI do the carb on the Chevelle and the Camaro and could not be happier with them....I love it that they got rid of the QJET bog. The Camaro does use more gas than before though.

shadowgray396 05-23-2014 02:31 PM

Finally home so I worked on the car trailer. Got chrome center caps and lug nuts for it today. New spare on it and now it ready to go for the season. Rain now so the Chevelle sits in the garage for now.

Ms Grumpy 05-23-2014 09:30 PM

I actually washed mine today. I think that it has been over 7 months since she had a bath, pretty bad huh ? lol I didn't do much else because I wanted to take her out and drive. Oh yeah and go to my first car show of the season. Great night out with my son Jacob.

SS Shaun 05-26-2014 08:43 PM

I still did nothing with the Chevelle ,been enjoying the truck too much ,maybe next weekend we will cruise the vert.

shadowgray396 05-26-2014 09:21 PM

Wife and I took the Chevelle out to the local burger place tonight. Her idea, I almost fell off the chair when she suggested it. She usually wants nothing to do with the Chevelle.

Front Spoiler

Today I got my front spoiler from UPS and had it on in 30 min. Only needed a ratchet, 7/16" & 1/2" sockets, 7/16" wrench, drill & 1/4" bit and 2 small clamps help. It helps to use ramps if you have them. (I do and didn't use them)

Check it out here http://www.spoilersbyrandy.com/Pages/default.aspx

shadowgray396 05-30-2014 11:07 PM

I've seen the spoilers on more and more cars lately. I'm still on the fence if I like them on the Chevelle's. Looks good on your car.

Same here, not a fan. But, if we all liked the same thing - that would be boring!

Ken Hayes 05-31-2014 05:22 PM

This spoiler is satin black (so it doesn't look bad at all), not a monster of a thing and it does work. It directs air from under the bumper to directly into your radiator. I don't have any overheating problems what so ever, so this is more for looks.

flash 05-31-2014 05:55 PM

I like the way it looks and Randy is a very nice guy ,met him one year at Chevellabration .He also converts GM bullet mirrors to fit Chevelles .

Ms Grumpy 05-31-2014 07:36 PM

Looks good on your car Ken. I am still on the fence wether I like them too.

SS Shaun 05-31-2014 08:42 PM

went to a car show today and sat in my buddy's 70 chevelle man i love that car

Ken Hayes 05-31-2014 09:09 PM

Hey John, take a look at my mirrors. (on my spoiler pic) $29.00 a pair from Summit. Mirror glass is 1" wider and 3/4" taller than stock ones.

flash 05-31-2014 09:51 PM

Are those chrome ,hard to tell ? We wanted ours painted to match the car and Randy fixed us up but I need some decent ones for my El Camino someday.

If the stormy weather ever leaves I will get our toys out ,been stormy just about every day the last couple weeks .Storming here now .

shadowgray396 05-31-2014 10:59 PM

Well at least the car trailer got used today. I'm still in the Seatlle area until next thursday. Son had a good time with it today, the dunes were calling.

Ken Hayes 06-01-2014 07:57 AM

Yeah John they are chrome. The head is plastic but the base is metal. For the price they're great.

Ray,
Heading for Seattle on Saturday...boarding Princess Alaska cruise Sunday afternoon.

Thinking about dragging out the wagon, giving it a badly needed bath, and heading over to a local cruise this afternoon.

shadowgray396 06-01-2014 09:24 AM

I will be in Oregon. Shoot was hoping might still be the area. Most likely will be at our beach house that weekend.

flash 06-01-2014 03:14 PM

We took the truck out to gas it up and run some errands ,was going to take the vert out afterwards but its looking very stormy again .

Ms Grumpy 06-01-2014 07:13 PM

Ray my husband used to have a 72 Jeep Commando that he lifted and he would have a blast at the dunes. It was funny cause people were not sure what it actually was.

Ms Grumpy 06-01-2014 07:14 PM

My car has sat in the garage all thru this beautiful weekend. I had a wedding cake to do Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning. Then I had to work on my garden for the rest of the day Saturday and most of the day today. I don't think that I could shift the dang thing into drive my arms are so tired. :(

BillsCamino 06-01-2014 08:05 PM

Beautiful weather this afternoon. Comfortable temps and a breeze.
Spent it hanging out with friends at a local fund raising car show. Even got a little sunburn.
The wagon is running great...lots of positive comments today. :)

Ken Hayes 06-01-2014 08:14 PM

Went to the Pier 500 Metrocruisers show today. Sun was a killer with 84* temp....glad I took the popup to sit under.
