Now it's a waiting game to see what happens. Wind are going to shift tonight so that's a good thing for him and the fire, it will blow back onto the area already burned.

Any chance of rain over there? It must be horrible to have that happen.

Slight chance tomorrow. Not enough. Cooler until Sunday then back to hot weather.

Stay safe. Looks like a lot of destruction will happen. I notice one post where a guy put ratchet type straps across the inside of his garage doors and it kept the doors from blowing into his cars. The took damage but stayed in place.

Man, I sure hope it misses you! If you do get hit, I hope for the best for you.

A friend of mine down there, that is in the path of the storm, called and said I need to get my brother to park his big truck in front of the roll-up doors. He has been through these storms and says that the truck would stop the wind from buckling the doors. Makes sense to me.

Not feeling the effects here yet, tomorrow morning around 11 is when the rain is supposed to start.

I've been trying to track the storm on-line. What County are you in? My Brother says it's been raining pretty good up there in Citrus County all day.

mestorod70 09-13-2017 09:50 AM

Im still here...Power is finaly back on.
IRMA did a little jog to the east just before it hit charlotte county.
I lost a few screens from the pool cage and lots of yard trash all over
but its all good.
Street had perhaps 12in water at one time but drained by morning.
The wind sound at midnight was like an express train on the roof...very scary.
THE CHEVELLE IS FINE
atb mick.

Hank70SS 09-13-2017 04:47 PM

Glad you came through it alright. That's all that was on the TV as it went up through Naples, Fort Meyers, etc. Pretty nasty stuff. I'll trade a hurricane for some snow in the winter. Michigan is looking better all the time. No floods, no droughts, no hurricanes, no major fires like out west.

shadowgray396 09-17-2017 01:06 AM

We have the worst air quality in the nation. Smoke from the Eagle Creek fire is blowing in. Now at about 45,000 acres. Rain finally coming late tomorrow and staying most of the week. It should help put the some of the fire out, but not excepted to completely be out until the snow comes. We are expecting about 2 inches in the next week. Hopefully we won't have mud slides now.

carpoor 09-17-2017 10:33 AM

Hot, humid, still no power. Lost power last Sunday just before 10 PM. No damage other than a few screens on the pool enclosure.

I feel your pain.
Do you have duke?
I see a lot of complaints about them on arfcom.
Hopefully soon

carpoor 09-17-2017 12:50 PM

Yup, Duke Energy. Power was restored finally at 1:37 PM. Now, to try and get back to "normal."

shadowgray396 09-22-2017 03:34 PM

Rained most of this week helped a lot. Back to around 80 all next week.

Hank70SS 09-22-2017 04:54 PM

Have work to do outside but it's getting tough. Close to 90 on Wednesday, 92 yesterday and 91 today and high humidity. We get a break tomorrow, high is only supposed to be 87. This is the end of September, average temps are low 70's?

flash 09-22-2017 08:07 PM

It has been hot and humid here all week too .Almost rained today ,almost .

carpoor 09-23-2017 09:19 AM

Humidity isn't as bad as it has been. High 80s mostly. The weather is definitely getting better.

vinces427bb 09-23-2017 11:51 PM

weather in the desert southwest is starting to cool down.
had average rainfall of less than 5-6'' of total rain so far this year...
typical forecast is warm and sunny about 325 days per year:)

Hank70SS 09-26-2017 02:40 PM

Been over 90 here for a week, average temp is like 71 this time of year. High humidity has made it miserable but we haven't had any rain for awhile. Lawn is looking a little toasted, actually a lot toasted.

That's what the family was saying this week
91* with humidity; sounds like Texas weather:o

Hank70SS 09-27-2017 07:15 AM

Cold front moving down from Canada today. High of 80 today, high of only 64 for the weekend.

carpoor 09-28-2017 03:53 PM

Send some our way! Been mid 90s the past few days. The forecast for the next 4 days is rain... hopefully afternoon showers.

chevymaher 09-29-2017 12:56 AM

I been doing fiberglass work. You can tell it is cooling off it takes alot longer to harden.

Hank70SS 10-01-2017 09:37 AM

Over 90 last Tuesday, 39 yesterday and today when I got up. Today's not supposed to be to bad. 69 and sunny, I can live with that.

carpoor 10-02-2017 01:20 PM

Currently 84* and sunny, best day for weather yet. Still waiting for cooler air. (70s)

shadowgray396 10-02-2017 02:46 PM

Cool and in around 70 with rain showers off and on during the week. The big fire is only 50% contained, but not causing any problems these days.

carpoor 10-05-2017 07:53 PM

Rain all day, don't think it even hit 80 degrees today.

Hank70SS 10-06-2017 06:48 AM

We're finally getting some rain. It's been raining pretty steady most of the night and we really need it. Going to put a damper on finishing the roof on the upstairs porch. I've replaced the last 2' of roof board and the ends of some of the trusses. Now I have to finish removing the rolled roofing and put down the metal roof. We need the rain and I need a break so it's okay.

Like I said it's been a steady rain. no wind or lightening but the power went out a minute ago and the generator started up. Guess I need to let the power company know the electric is out.

shadowgray396 10-10-2017 08:47 AM

Rain today and the rest of the week. Around 60°

flash 10-10-2017 11:09 AM

Hot and muggy here today .

Hank70SS 10-10-2017 03:56 PM

This is October, average high here is 64. 80 here yesterday and it's been like that.

carpoor 10-10-2017 09:26 PM

The heat and humidity was brutal today. I believe 94 degrees at one point. It was still 85 at quarter till 7. Tomorrow I will be working on a roof, looks like another day of sweating profusely.

chevymaher 10-11-2017 03:46 AM

Trees changing leaves falling. Cool and raining after a month of no rain at all.

Hank70SS 10-11-2017 05:28 PM

80 a couple days ago. 53 for a high today and close 1.5" of rain.

carpoor 10-12-2017 03:52 PM

Send some of that here Hank. Was 87 today, 88 yesterday. Started off at 71 this morning around 7am, was 83 by 10:30 today.

flash 10-13-2017 07:31 PM

Its down to 72 here ,been hot and humid .

Hank70SS 10-14-2017 04:08 PM

Enough rain already. 1.5" on Wednesday, more on Thursday. Got a break on Friday. Today it's been a steady rain for the last 10 hours. Not a drizzle but a pretty hard rain. On radar there is a band from Iowa up through Chicago and over us. Every time I look at it, it looks the same. From early this morning until now, 5PM. Glad our house sits up high.

shadowgray396 10-16-2017 11:13 PM

Fall is here. About 60 these days and rain most of the week.

carpoor 10-17-2017 03:49 PM

Only went to 81 today, mostly overcast and humid. Back into the upper 80s by the end of the week. Looks like a mild winter is on the horizon.
