so what should i look for then? because mine are nice and bright

Ken Hayes 08-24-2014 05:48 PM

As long as they're bright and your satisfied...........disregard my post.

SS Shaun 08-24-2014 10:07 PM

drop my family out to dinner in the chevelle :)

carpoor 08-26-2014 09:49 PM

Attempted to start the car and break in the cam, only to get kicked in the teeth once again. I haven't stuck a gauge on it, but it has little to no compression after the cam swap. I've been in contact with the cam company, and now have to jump through hoops to get this mess sorted out.

I'm about out of patience and sanity at this point. It's a damn good thing I don't drink anymore... my liver would be crying for help.

BillsCamino 08-27-2014 07:22 AM

Valves not adjusted correctly??? I'd set them all again to double check...

chevymaher 08-27-2014 08:37 AM

Just unwrapped my stripes. Yippee clear all that is left

Been over everything. I am certain this is an issue with the cam. Going to get some numbers for them tomorrow. I had over 180 psi with the other cam. (187-188 psi)

I usually not a big fan of aftermarket wheels but I have to say you know how to pick them....love the wheels you got on the Vette and can't wait to see what these look like on the Chevelle.

DITTO!!!
Love 'em Eric. Nice choice.

flash 09-01-2014 05:40 PM

I cant wait too see them on the Chevelle .

carpoor 09-06-2014 05:40 PM

Spent all morning on my car, no closer to a solution. Next chance, I will be pulling the intake back off. I plan to stick the old cam back in and take some measurements for comparison. As it stands right now, the cam is ground incorrectly in my opinion.

shadowgray396 09-07-2014 09:39 PM

Finally got a chance to take the chevelle out today. I have missed almost all the car shows I have wanted to go to this summer. Decided at the last moment to go to a local car show about 20 miles away. Warm day but a good chance to get out and enjoy some other cars. I got suprised that I took Best 70-80 car class, there was some really nice cars in that class, Took the wife out to dinner in it tonight also.

BillsCamino 09-09-2014 03:12 PM

Hey...wait a minute!!! NO malice intended here.
I posted a valid question.
I have no idea how old Shaun's daughter is...I was honestly thinking pre-K school...maybe around 4 yo.

And it scares me to think that Grandsport agrees with my question. ;)

BillsCamino 09-10-2014 04:07 PM

Rebuilt the rear suspension on the '72 today...
Removed the frame mounted trailer hitch, trailer wiring, old upper and lower control arms, original springs, and aftermarket air shocks.
Replaced with new Moog rubber bushings in the 12 bolt, fresh boxed upper and new UMI tubular lower control arms, new Moog cargo springs, ACDelco gas shocks, and added a new 7/8" rear sway bar. Rear brakes looked good.
Oh yeah...also replaced the rubber rear body filler strip and the rear bumper (orig was dented).

Tomorrow the front end suspension gets the attention...including installing a Wilwood drilled/slotted/zinc washed disc brake kit. Along with a new disc/drum master cylinder and new Rightstuff brake lines.
Surprised that this '72 has front drums...

Then ,as soon as the new carpet arrives, the front buckets come out for new Legendary covers and ACI foam.

I'll leave the engine mods for last. ;)
