Got the hood blocked and painted Sunday. Going to flip it over and paint the underside Thursday. In about two weeks the shift linkage should be buttoned up and the rest of the sheet metal hung. Then it will be uncovered and I can take more pictures. Hoping it is "done" by next spring. (March or April)

Just as an FYI - I have those same wheels on my 71 Corvette and found out the hard way that some wheel cleaners are pretty harsh. Be careful what you use on them as something I had from one of the reputable detailing suppliers (Poorboys, etc.) had some kind of very harsh chemical that oxidized the aluminum immediately. I took me hours to try to polish the lip back.... I haven't even tried to get the inner barrels polished back yet and the spokes have some light streaking from where the cleaner sat too long in certain places. Normally I soak all four wheels first and then go back and start cleaning them so unfortunately I didn't even get lucky enough to only do this to one, but rather all four. The cleaner I used was something I have been using for a while on my Fiancé's 06 TL as well as my 2012 Acura TL with no adverse effects. I was so pissed I threw the bottle out and don't remember what it was but want to say it was a heavy duty wheel cleaner from Poorboy's.... Sonax works well though!

Just something to think about.

Edit

This stuff! Do not use this on uncoated wheels!! Of course it says it in the instructions, but I had already been using it regularly and didn't even think about it.

The wheels were on his green 72' first, I never used anything but soap and water on them. And an old toothbrush to get in the nooks and crannies. I think he has had those wheels and tires for roughly 6 years now.

The wheels are 17X8 Torque Thrusts. Kinda wish they were 9" wide. They used to be on his green 72'.
