Just covered it up today, tired of looking at it without the motor in it. Most likely will be after the new year before I can get back to it.

SS Shaun 12-11-2011 09:12 PM

lol i finally pushed the rear under the car. today now its on the jack under the car i think that will motivate me to bolt it up sometime this week :)

68ChevelleSS 12-12-2011 08:51 AM

Well i finally made it back home! I took the cover off the 68 and have been tinkering with it a little bit here and there. Ordered a new set of back wheels for it with a different backspacing and also a new K&N air filter. Still have not figured out that dang squeaking noise!! Oh yeah, I sold my 72 to my Brother so now I'm down to one.

fleming23 12-12-2011 10:18 AM

I pulled the exhaust off the car, took the front & rear sway bars off and then dropped it off at the shop for the Motor to come out tomorrow.

I've got big plans brewing!

No need for surprises!

Started a thread of my own for the build
http://chevelleforum.org/showthread.php?t=2393

Should be quite a transformation

68ChevelleSS 12-14-2011 08:32 AM

Got the tires installed on the new back wheels. No more rubbing!!! I can actually lower the air shocks all the way down now! Also put the new air filter on. Feels good to be back and working on her.

BBChevelle 12-14-2011 02:52 PM

Pulled it out of the garage to pull the k5 in. Time to rebuild the auto hubs.

Fat fingered from the phone-Corey

Im about to move the Elky out of the shop so that one of our boys can get his Durango in to work on the brakes .I may just have to drive her to work tomorrow to check her out a bit.

SS Shaun 12-19-2011 08:24 AM

i really need to bolt up the rear end this week sometime because my jack is under it and i need it to do other things...lol

68ChevelleSS 12-21-2011 07:05 PM

Bolted on a new set of valve covers. I went with the Chrome Chevrolet slant edge covers. kinda wish I would have went with the polished ones. These things are almost too dang shiny!

Rharp 12-21-2011 07:31 PM

I hid all my wife's Christmas gifts in the trunk.

fleming23 12-21-2011 08:10 PM

Dropped the gas tank tonight. Had not planned on doing it but why not. Was hoping to see a build sheet but no such luck.

flash 12-22-2011 10:09 PM

I cleaned out the trunk of the vert and thought about doing the same with the Elky but got sidetracked with the boys playing in the shop tonight.

grandsport 12-23-2011 07:56 PM

Where was this thread last year at this time? Me and Avis are out in the garage now.I uncovered him today and dusted him off.Cleaning windows and going over the interior with some Lexol cleaner and conditioner.

fleming23 12-23-2011 09:16 PM

Put new power steering lines on this evening but that was about it. Still cant get the reproduction pitman arm on the shaft. Did get a phone call informing me that my wheels will be shipping early next week! It'll be nice to get the car on the ground again

68ChevelleSS 12-24-2011 10:47 AM

Put a new set of door window seals on last night. The other ones were about to fall off. The first one was kind of a pain but went smoother as i did more. I'm not sure of others experience with these but the ones I installed seemed very cheap. I had to put the clips back on a couple times. i ordered mine through SS396.com. Anybody else have problems with these?

BBChevelle 12-26-2011 10:22 PM

Put my white walls back on today. Makes driving the car around town more fun. All the arrogant kids in their hondas get scared off when the see dot slicks but when they see white walls all the sudden their driving top fuel cars and im in a geo

Uncovered the car and worked on the interior today. Got the carpet finished and put the sill plates on. Felt good to finally get back to it today.

SS Shaun 12-27-2011 09:34 AM

I am sure there are many who would love to be as far along as you are! Looks like you are getting to the final stages! Wish I had the space, patience & overall time to devote the level of detail you have given your beauty!

flash 12-27-2011 06:58 PM

I still have done nothing with mine but walk by them in my shop .At least the El Camino is getting driven some now days but the convertible is just sitting in the corner waiting to be cleaned.

SS Shaun 12-27-2011 09:29 PM

dencon 01-03-2012 10:28 PM

SS Shaun 01-04-2012 08:31 AM

nice! cant wait to see mine on the road! i am hoping for this summer but i set a goal of summer 2013 :(

flash 01-04-2012 06:13 PM

Anyone else get any Chevelle stuff done today ? I had to tinker with my furnace instead but its better than being cold.

carpoor 01-04-2012 06:41 PM

I wish, it was too cold. I did do some research online tonight and order some small parts. The windage tray studs for the Milodon windage tray interfere with my stock oil pan. I dug up the part # for factory windage tray studs, looked around for the best price, and ordered them. Hoping they are at least a 1/4" shorter in the right place. This issue is literally keeping me from buttoning up my shortblock. My goal is to have the engine and trans installed by April. (hopefully sooner)

fleming23 01-04-2012 06:55 PM

Nothing to do with mine for the next week or so. Then hopefully the massive amount of work can resume.

Not me, this morning my wife told me the ceiling in the finished basement was leaking, after cutting a hole in the ceiling I fiqured it out that is was the toilet that is leaking when flushed.....now I get to take it apart Saturday to see what damage I have...little nervous on this one as plumbing and me don't get along.

shadowgray396 01-04-2012 07:33 PM

Just printed over a 100 photo's for a photo album I'm putting together on the car for car shows this year.

SS Shaun 01-04-2012 10:32 PM

well we have to wait to see what the bill is going to be on my trans rebuild once i get that part down then i can look into more parts

flash 01-05-2012 09:48 PM

I took everything out of the trunk of the 72 convertible and cleaned it up in there and then organized it good. At least now the trunk is ready for the cruisin season but the rest of the car is still got dirt on it from our trip to Maine.

BillsCamino 01-06-2012 10:58 AM

The custom built Sean Murphy Q-jet carb I ordered for my '67s new baby big block arrived this morning.
I guess I've got to get going and complete the engine assembly, install the Vintage A/C kit, and get this poor neglected Chevelle back up running.
Now that the holidays are over...:drunk:

68ChevelleSS 01-06-2012 02:02 PM

fleming23 01-06-2012 02:56 PM

That sounds so good. Weather was really nice here today, I wish that my car wasn't put away for the winter.

flash 01-07-2012 04:13 PM

I had planned to drive the Camino today but it was rainy looking so maybe tomorrow.
