Replaced the recently installed Moog "Cargo" springs in the rear of the Sprint with a new pair of Moog 5379 coils from Rock Auto.
I like the new stance...lowered the rear down about 1.5"... even now with the front end.

Hey John...New pic in signature...finally!! Wheels lookin' good.

flash 11-20-2014 06:51 PM

Dang Bill ,that looks killer , What do you have planned for the cargo coils ? Those wheels look so right on there .

If you want them...they're yours.
I put them back in the Moog box and just sitting on the workbench. Actually will fit any '67 up Chevelle.

Tim and I just painted and installed that steel 2" cowl hood last week.

SS Shaun 11-20-2014 07:23 PM

flash 11-20-2014 08:30 PM

shadowgray396 11-20-2014 10:38 PM

BTW...never heard back from Nick.

flash 11-22-2014 09:16 PM

I could not get him either which means its probably sold .

chevymaher 11-28-2014 12:14 PM

I was down working out and my boy was with me. He said Daddy let me play gran Tourismo 4 in the real car.

So I let him sit in it while i did my thing. He was making the racing engine noises.

He never seen a stick shift car. He is asking Daddy why does this car have a extra pedal. I explained it is for a manual trans as opposed to a automatic. Just like the game.

Went over to the huge, annual car show/swap meet over at the Daytona Speedway. Was able to get a trunk pan for the 69' from Ausley's, but nothing else. :( I had my father with me and he just couldn't do all the walking required. I wish I could go tomorrow, I am stuck at work all day. :grumpy:

BillsCamino 11-29-2014 03:57 PM

Yeah, I spent most of yesterday walking around that infield.
Also made a purchase from Ausley's...a turn signal switch for the Sprint. Tired of the left signal not turning off...

chevymaher 11-30-2014 01:34 PM

Was doing the front turn signals today. Cleaning and painting the housings. Tested and one had very high resistance from the body to the ground of the bulb. That was a slow blinker and dim light waiting to happen. Dab of solder and we good to go. Glad I am Charlie Anal sometimes. That would have been a WTF once it was together.

Tomorrow buff up the lenses. I had 2 perfect ones out of 6 I had. I love when that happens. Chips cracks and corners missing from rocks over the years.

Ms Grumpy 11-30-2014 08:47 PM

Spent 8 hours in my garage today. Had to seal some gaps in the walls which required me to do a lot of moving things around. This old lady did pretty good moving tool boxes, BMX bike racks, tires and lots of car parts. Actually got almost everything done that I wanted to. Grumpy and my son Jacob plan on using the garage to work on some of the BMX bikes they have and needed for the garage to to be a little more secure so that was done too.

I am feeling a little sore right now, but also relieved that I got it all done. Good thing my car is in storage, but I am sure it will like all the changes when it gets back in the spring.

chevymaher 12-03-2014 01:57 PM

Under hood wiring done. Horns in. I sat for a long time under the hood with a capfull of mixed hot rod black and a paintbrush. Touching up where i sanded the grounds, boltheads, anything i could find that needed touched up.
Now off on the next adventure.

chevymaher 12-15-2014 09:25 PM

I know it kind of kiddy like. Buddy came over to use the weight machine. I just sat in the chevelle while he worked out and shot the bull.

Van engine is a disaster. Cracked head. Hydraulic ed a cylinder. Cracked the piston ring. Sent ring shrapnel through the engine. Oil pump picked it up. Got a piece on a rod journal. Anti-freeze in the engine. It is a Greek Tragedy.

She sounded perfect last time I fired her up before I tore her down. I miss my van already.

I looking at a mercruiser crate engine for it. I should hear back tomorrow.

chevymaher 12-20-2014 07:20 PM

My son ask tonight when we came home. When we going to fix the chevelle some more.

shadowgray396 12-20-2014 08:52 PM

Sounds like he likes to get out there and work with you.

It was actually kind of sad pulling the old shoulder belts out. Those were probably one of the few things left that were original to the car, although completely useless!

shadowgray396 01-05-2015 07:59 PM

So are you keeping the old stuff? I like the look.

The factory stuff will go in a box to likely not see the light of day again for many years. Honestly, the 3 point is easier to use and feels better. The shoulder belt locks like a newer car which if nothing else, provides peace of mind that my nose won't kiss the steering wheel.

RBeckman 01-06-2015 09:38 AM

I put 3 points in about 5 years ago as it just did not feel right with just a lap belt and I'm very happy I did.

Ken Hayes 01-07-2015 12:34 PM

Went to my neighbors garage where I've got my car stored twice last week (Sun & Thur) and started it up, let it get up to running temp then shut it all down. Didn't disconnect the battery as nothing is running on it.

Went out yesterday and it was bone dead. (it was also 6° outside and garage is not heated) I have a small charger, so I put it on the on the start car position. It cranked over a few times then quit. I took the battery out and put it down the basement with the charger on trickle charge. Took a real good look at the battery and found a small date sticker on it 03/06..........guess its time to start looking for a new battery.

What do you guys think is a good battery for me to get? Its a stock 350/330 with nothing extra as far as electrical.

flash 01-07-2015 01:48 PM

I just buy the cheapest one now days ,have had better luck with the cheaper lines from O'Reileys .

flash 01-07-2015 05:52 PM

I drove the El Camino to work today ,was supposed to deliver some goodies to a charity at one of the local schools afterwards today but the lady got sick and had to postpone it .It was nice to get her out though .
