Yes it will Ray, gold sword stripes on the sides. And the GT decal on the deck lid, to the right of the "P O N T I A C" emblem. Rally IIs with no trim rings. The car is going to look tough.

chevymaher 03-27-2015 08:09 AM

I broke down and scrubbed up the wheels and polished the trim rings and center caps. They just didnt look like they belonged on the car since it was painted.

mestorod70 03-27-2015 08:20 AM

The le mans is looking great.
What brand paint did you use.

carpoor 03-28-2015 07:13 PM

Omni brand, B grade PPG product. The clear is Chromabase.

Garyb 03-28-2015 08:29 PM

I took my Chevelle out for a cruz today and saw cops everywhere. That's ok I wasn't hot rodding today.

shadowgray396 03-28-2015 10:30 PM

Getting mine cleaned up for a show for the high school seniors next weekend for a fun raiser to support prom night activities to keep the kids safe. Hope it doesn't rain.

It's a factory 72' Pontiac color believe it or not... Sundance Orange.

chevymaher 03-31-2015 07:26 AM

Got the yard pretty much caught up. Top iis laying there and is forming to the roof nicely as time goes by. I got everything out from under it now. So I can roll it back and scrub underneath. Now that its paint is done I cleaning the garage real good get the dust and overspray out of it. Try to keep the dust on the car down to a dull roar.
I got the wheel well trim on the bench right now. I thinking of going and putting it on. I know SS's didn't have it. But it is only a lowely Malibu clone LOL. I got to measure my buddies 71 and see if the rockers are the same. I really thinking of putting the trim down there to. Good thing it isn't a real SS I be killing its value with all the mods I am doing. Oh wait that is why I sold the SS. I wanted choices.

chevymaher 04-01-2015 10:38 PM

I still gardening alot. But I had a electric heater in the chevelle in the times I am working. Get it good and warm. Got the top laying on it. Wrinkles are slowly coming out and it is molding to the shape of the top. I reckon that will make it easier to put on when I get to it.

shadowgray396 04-04-2015 05:30 AM

Car is loaded and headed to a car show south of me today. Looks like a break in the weather for a day.

Ken Hayes 04-04-2015 10:17 AM

Have fun Ray.

shadowgray396 04-04-2015 05:47 PM

Rain turned me around this morning. Didn't want to put tire spray all over the Chevelle on the way down. Now it's sunny here this afternoon. Heard it hailed down south this morning also.

shadowgray396 04-17-2015 10:21 PM

Headed to a car show in the morning. Temps tomorrow around 80. My sister and here husband just got back there 63 ford falcon convertible and want to meet at a show. It's now has a 5.0 in it with all mustang suspension under it.

BillsCamino 04-18-2015 07:53 AM

I've always been a big fan of those early Falcons...post a pic or two if 'ya can Ray.

chevymaher 04-18-2015 05:14 PM

Sat in it worked all the dash switches and made Vroom Vroom noises.

RBeckman 04-18-2015 06:19 PM

Got the Camaro out and running, tomorrow the Chevelle after I go get a new battery.

shadowgray396 04-18-2015 07:27 PM

Got a first today. Took best of show at a Mopar sponsored car show. Show raised over 4k for the kids at the high school. I went to support the kids, the award was a total surprise.

Ken Hayes 04-18-2015 09:47 PM

WTG Ray. Surprises are always nice.

flash 04-18-2015 09:59 PM

Congrats Ray ,well deserved .

chevymaher 04-19-2015 12:30 PM

Well the computer that I store everything on. The hard drive crashed. I lost everything recent basically.

I got a new hard drive and installed it. Upgraded memory. But I digress. Microsoft and HP wanted to charge me for another copy of windows. What a scam. I told them I own a copy thank you very much. I got it with the computer. I am not paying for a car twice because I lost the keys. I just break in and have a key made. Take that how you want goodbye and thanks for nothing.

Well what makes this a what have you done with your chevelle subject. I lost 13 years of progress pictures. Then it hit me. I been E mailing everything to a freind who is a chevelle nut to. So I was up till 3 am extracting pictures from the send files in my E Mail. Gee I never realized I had 3500 pictures LOL.

shadowgray396 04-19-2015 03:15 PM

It is amazing how many pictures you take on these builds. That why I have an external drive to store things on and have a copy sets of CD's with pictures stored away, you never know. I learned the hard way also.

I've had something similar happen but it was with every picture and everything I ever had. About 12 years ago our house caught on fire and was a total loss. Baby pictures from when I was a kid and growing up, every other non replaceable item gone just like that.

One thing I do now is back up my computer to an external hard drive that is stored in a safe and every picture I take with my phone or put on the computer is stored on a remote server like Dropbox, photobucket, or Google+. I have 1TB of storage on google for anything I want for $1.99/mo. To me that's well worth the cost of loosing all those pictures or files you can never get back. Luckily for you, you were able to get most of your pictures back from your email.

Few big hose clamps and some hanger wire
To stop the wood from spliting.
Or upgrade to pressure treated lumber.

BillsCamino 04-20-2015 08:22 AM

Shoulda used YellaWood...

carpoor 04-20-2015 10:30 AM

Some of the "repairs" people do makes me wish stupidity was more painful.

shadowgray396 04-20-2015 02:22 PM

Feeling stupid, back the car off the trailer and let rolled into the garage door wall frame. Luckly it looks like no damage. I was not a happy camper with myself. Next time I will leave more room.

If I ever do something like that you have my permission to shoot me to put me out of my misery.

fleming23 04-20-2015 08:42 PM

Poor Chevelle... It has been pushed into a hole and is being neglected! Haven't driven it in weeks...

I second that!

chevymaher 04-21-2015 08:27 AM

Wow it been a while. Engine went in the van, then needed new exhaust. Then the computer. Mom wants a shed built. Life is doing its best to sidetrack me again.

But I am caught up for the moment, rested, about to head down and see what I can get into on the chevelle. Laying the top over the car is definitely helping. Wrinkles are slowly smoothing out. Forming to the roof. That has got to help.

carpoor 04-28-2015 03:45 PM

Still haven't had time for my poor cars. :( These swing shifts have me upside down. Add in studying as much as possible for my state exam on the 7th. My "spare time" has been spent taking apart my old truck and helping out on the LeMans.

And the lemans is looking good congrats. I had a 67 lemans in the basement a while in storage.

BillsCamino 04-28-2015 07:27 PM

Fired up the new 350HO engine and TH350 trans we installed into a frame off project '65 Malibu SS convert last night.
Runs great!! Those poor rear tires. ;)
Replaced the original 283/PG...
Should be at the Peach State show this weekend.
