Im going to at least go to the shop when I get home and crank the convertible and let it run a while .Its too nasty and wet to get her out .

Ms Grumpy 01-09-2012 02:12 PM

I had to go into the garage to find the instructions for my new electric smoker, so at least I got to look at her today. Man I wish it was spring !!

SS Shaun 01-10-2012 09:22 AM

i leaned on it and cried when i got the bill for the trans and told her "well we will see the road in 2013" :(

SS Shaun 01-11-2012 03:58 PM

ORDERED MY TRANS :) :P so happy about that..lol

BillsCamino 01-11-2012 04:10 PM

Finished assembling the new baby big block for my '67 and it's ready to drop in.
Guess I'd better get going on the install of the Vintage A/C system now...

carpoor 01-11-2012 05:17 PM

Windage tray studs arrived today, swapped those out and got the pan fitting nicely. Grabbed my gaskets and got the oil pan and timing cover on. Damnit if I didn't snap off one of the small bolts in the front corner that ties the pan and timing cover together. I walked away from it and came in for some dinner.

It should be easy to fix, being that the engine is still on a stand where I can see/reach everything. Just frustrating to make such a dumb mistake.

Bah, you are a step ahead of me. My cam showed up today and the Intake, Lifters & Water Pump (last 3 items will be here tomorrow). Hope to get this thing going back together next week!

Edit: Hope to get this thing started next week.....

I again did nothing on the Chevelle or El Camino ,I did get some signs hung in the shop though. Im still trying to declutter my shop little bit at a time.

Ms Grumpy 01-12-2012 02:27 PM

Ugggh !!!

Went into the garage today and noticed a small spot of trans fluid under the car (yes I always look under the car). I think I know where it is coming from but won't be able to do anything about it til work eases up at my brothers shop, and that won't be for a month or two. damn !

flash 01-12-2012 08:14 PM

We worked on everything but the Chevelle or El Camino after work today. We got my pressure washer running and put away and got the emergency generator running just in case the power goes out this winter .The boys had homework so we had to send them home early.

shadowgray396 01-12-2012 11:54 PM

Just picked up a original warranty book, protect o plate and some dealer info to have for display at car shows with the car.

grandsport 01-13-2012 06:15 PM

I haven't done anything for a while, but the one thing my Chevelle did for me today was make me smile after being gone all week.Three important things to see first,my dog,my car and then the wife all in that order.:p

SS Shaun 01-14-2012 12:17 AM

I put the LQ9 on the engine stand today just so its out of the way and i can get to it easier. going to clean the block paint it chevy orange next weekend i hope! one step closer to getting it ready to get in the chevelle :)

grandsport 01-15-2012 06:22 PM

Spent most of the day in the garage. Took off the right front wheel and dusted off that side of the suspension and frame etc. Cleaned and waxed both inner and outer right front wheel and applied tire shine. Then I waxed the front bumper, right front fender and door. Can't believe I spent 6 hours on that, but time flies......

flash 01-15-2012 06:40 PM

I spent today getting some scrap metal prepared and loaded onto the trailer to get it out of my way .I just looked at the Chevelle and El Camino while out at the shop.

69chevelless 01-15-2012 06:42 PM

I got my car completely stripped to metal.

I went to the shop after work today to show the 55 Chevy and cranked the Chevelle ,the El Camino and the 55 and let them run for a while.

Dark_Horse 01-19-2012 03:05 PM

Today I'm finishing applying seam sealer to the underside and floors so I can paint them this weekend and get the body back on its chassis!

BBChevelle 01-19-2012 04:07 PM

I drove it down to the gas station and once again it let me down an wouldn't restart. Took two trucks and they were diesels at that to get it started......wanna hear the funny part, alternator, starter, bat and cables are all good.

Fat fingered from the phone-Corey

Do you have a ton of initial timing in it?

69chevelless 01-19-2012 07:07 PM

I picked up my seats from my friends house today and I'm bringing them to a shop tomorrow to be upholstered.

grandsport 01-19-2012 07:20 PM

I plan to do the opposite of what I did last Sunday, this Sunday.:)

flash 01-19-2012 10:35 PM

I pulled the Camino out of my shop in order to let one of our boys put his daily driver in for an oil change ,other than that nothing.

BillsCamino 01-20-2012 06:40 AM

I bought another 1967 GA license plate yesterday to replace the one presently on my car.
I liked the the number on this "new" one better and it's from the county I live in. The first digit on the old GA plates is the county rank by population. Mine is #7.
I guy I know that lives across town has over 7,000 antique tags...some have never been previously registered.

A reference for those here living in GA:

Worked on stripping a correct crank pulley today that I traded for from the one I got a month or so back that was not correct. It has not pitting in it so my job was easy to expoy primer it paint today. Now ready to install.

andy 01-22-2012 09:50 AM

What did I do today?

Sold my 1970 Chevelle at Barrett Jackson. It sold on Wednesday night. Lot 428.1
It just missed being on TV as they went to commercial. They came back on for a goofy race car that sold for less than mine.
Anyway, it was a great experience and lots of fun. I know there is a lot of negative stuff about BJ, but they treated me great from start to finish.

Big money for a clone.:ntwrthy:

Ms Grumpy 01-22-2012 04:10 PM

Not bad cash in this economy. But I bet the experience just being there, was priceless.

SS Shaun 01-22-2012 04:27 PM

i was going to say i watched all of B-J auction and i didnt see that car! good for you man!!

i finished cleaning my block and painted it today :) i will let it dry then clean it up with any spots i might find and then dress up the front of the motor with the water pump, alt, and crank pulley. I hope my valley pan and intake show up soon, and my trans should be here this week i hope!

69chevelless 01-22-2012 04:46 PM

A tow truck came by today and picked up my 69 SS and brought it to the paint shop. Amazingly my friend who stripped the car got both fenders and hood inside of the car. It was very interesting getting them out.

shadowgray396 01-22-2012 09:48 PM

Cold here today, so I spent about 5 hours working on the photo album for the car. Did get the crank pulley done yesterday. Need to get cracking on getting the engine back in.

dencon 01-23-2012 04:47 PM

Got my engine al finished. I just need to prime the oiling system and drop the distributor in. Then do the cam brake in. But I have to wait till my mufflers come in later this week. My neighbors will freak if I fire that thing uncorked.
