Thanks again Hank, I just got home from going up there and when I got there I noticed the street lights were on and that told me power was back on and I switch from generator and all is good for the time being. My son that lives in Grand Rapids said he will bring his chain saw over and on Thursday we will go over and cut it up and he will take the wood back with him so that will be good. My car temp said it was 1 degree. Merry Christmas

I just got cable back on. Went out Sunday, I think. I have had power, but my MIls' place and my brother Dougs' were both out. I've been running back and forth fron Davison to Dougs place, hauling this big, heavy generator in and out of the truck. 6 degrees out yesterday morning at around 5 am and it wouldn't start. Tore the carb off in the windy ass weather and found a chunk of the rubber fuel line that had deteriorated stuck in the seat. I've got a million big branchs' and trees down in the yard. Dougs yard looks like a hurricane went through. Got in a good pissing match with a truck load of hood-rats at the only gas station that was open. They bought some scratch-off Lotto tickets and thought it was a good idea to sit in front of the pump and scratch them off, with cars backed up into both roads at the corner. Of all the cars and trucks sitting there waiting on the fat-assed fools to move on, I'm the only one that said anything to them. I hate people. Merry Christmas.

PS...in my best soup-nazi voice......NO CHAINSAW FOR YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

Well that sucks. I have a gen you can use and since it sounds like Ric is all set if you need any help or anything else you have my number. My generator is 30 amp connector plus 4 110v, 5500 watts continuous. If it will keep you from hauling one around it's your's to use.

We never did lose power here. Lights flickered Sunday morning while we were cooking up some pancakes and bacon. I was thinking great, just when this stuff is half done but it didn't go out.

Thanks Hank. I have two generators, an 8000 for the house and this smaller 5000 for an extra. I built carts for both of them, so I can move them around easily. Only thing is, they are too heavy with the carts for me to lift up into the truck when I have to take them somewhere. I took the small one off the cart, but it is still a heavy bastard. I have the big one set up to feed the house and some of the shop, so it won't be hauled around.
Shoot me an email about when you are going to be in Florida. Maybe we can get together for a cold one.

And I get up to see another 6" of snow that I'll have to plow today. Seems like the Farmers Almanac predidted this cold and snow for this Winter.

Hank70SS 12-26-2013 07:36 AM

We got maybe 4" of snow yesterday/last night. Guess I didn't think it through when we made a spot to park the motorhome next to the driveway. We have the family room and garage on one side of the driveway and shed across the end of the driveway. The motorhome sits along the driveway opposite the house. All the snow needs to be pushed down the driveway or into the small area between the shed and motorhome. That's a 30' x 40' area of snow that needs to be pushed somewhere. Talk about poor planning, seemed like a good idea in the summer when we did it.

RBeckman 12-26-2013 09:42 AM

We got about 6 inches again this morning, I think I've had to shovel for the last 6 days. I know we have had more snow already this year than all of last year.
