I'm leaving early Wed AM...flying to Newburgh, NY...picking up my newly purchased '66 300 Deluxe project around noon...driving it (6 hrs-373 mi) to Buffalo where my truck has been stored since the CanAm show...picking up a Uhaul dolly Thurs AM and towing the Chevelle to Cleveland (3 1/2 hrs-215 mi).
Should arrive @ the HI in Strongsville late afternoon.
My wife will fly into Cleveland either Thurs evening or first thing Fri AM.
Then we're heading back home to GA Sunday AM (11 hrs-682 mi) dragging the Chevelle behind.

Whew...tired already.:)

Avoid downtown Cleveland, why. Construction ?

Any suggestions for those that need to travel thru there ?

From the West - You dont need to worry about Downtown because you are probably on the Turnpike with an exit very close to the Holiday Inn.

From the South
Avoid driving through downtown via I70/I71/315. This is a total cluster.

Avoid the West side around I70/270. Now...if you time it right, not during normal drive times, I70/270 coming from Dayton isn't too bad. The construction is mostly on 270 right at I70/270 and extends North a couple of miles. It clears up after that.

Those coming from the South, Cincy area want to go East on 270 at I71. This is a longer route but shorter in long run. There is some construction just started the past couple of weeks on 270 near I70. Four lanes narrow to two but it's not too bad. Just depends the time you pass through. Avoid morning drive times and 3 pm to 7 pm. Do not plan on driving I71 through town and do not take 270 around the West side.

From the East - Take 90 to I271 South to I480W to 71S to avoid Downtown. There is construction on the bridges downtown, You might be OK if you are coming through during the middle of the day or late at night but avoid rush hour times.
