Trying to help here, but I'm stumped on this one. The vacuum pod hooks to the center of the outside door. You noted the right side, I have not seen that before. Only thing on the right is the bracket that hold the outside door. Love to see a few more pictures of the set up. I'm not an expert here, just trying to see if I can help you find the part you might need.

This what you're looking for?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Cowl-Flap...item2c4a324ff7

Check Hinshaws if you just need the bracket.

Ray, seems he's looking for an A/C cowl flapper, part of the A/C system and you're thinking cowl induction system.

That makes sense now, thanks Hank

This might help, The Parts Place sells them brand new for $49. Here is a front and back view of the part:

Is it part #AC5573V ?
I just got off the phone with The Parts Place. They new exactly what I wanted.
But, its not available aftermarket. He said I will have to look for one at a swap meet, etc. used

Yeah, that is the part #. Really weird it won't show up on your phone. I posted it from my phone, and am able to view it from there as well. Funny how they list a part#, and show pictures... but don't sell it.

OK, try this... I saved it, and uploaded it to my photobucket. Hopefully it shows up for you.

That part numbers the actuator. I have a actuator and the flapper it moves. I need the 90degree part that connects them together

Any more progress?

smokenjoep01 10-02-2013 08:57 PM

Yes. But not a lot. Slowly chipping away at wiring. She is very close at this point.

One of the bulb sockets should have two wires going to it.
Check your other sockets to see if they got mixed up.

Did not see one that looked like that.

There's two if you look closely, the third goes from the drivers side valve cover to the fire wall- just below the wiper motor and next to the brake booster. You will see a hole there, possibly with a fastener of some sort. I can get more exact, and close up pictures tomorrow if need be.

It looks to me that there are two in your first photo. One on the drivers side area as you described and the one on the passenger side valve cover area to the firewall? Some close ups would be great. Also a close up of the wiper motor/pump electrical connections.

carpoor 10-22-2013 01:13 PM

There is a third that goes from the firewall to the frame rail on the passenger side. Look close, you'll see it. I will snap some pictures with my phone and try to get them posted.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but doing this from my phone is a real cluster F. Hopefully these will get you in the ballpark. The one on the passenger side frame rail is hidden by the inner fender, wasn't able to get a picture of that. Hopefully you can see it in my other post.

smokenjoep01 10-23-2013 07:32 PM

I seen a dimple were I now have a hole in my firewall. were I installed one of the ground wires. :)
Can you tell me were I should put the other two? Please? Really appreciate your help.

Do you have the inner fenders installed yet? If not, that diagram shows the one going from the body mount to the frame rail. The one you have installed is on which side?

shadowgray396 10-23-2013 10:02 PM

On 70 one goes to the frame and fire wall, the other two go to the valve covers on each side of the motor. The dimples in the fire wall have a purpose on where things are attached on the car. Not all cars got the ground straps.

smokenjoep01 10-24-2013 07:49 AM

And all the others that have helped along the way.
Im getting a message saying forum will not allow me to upload pictures with my app?

shadowgray396 10-24-2013 08:35 AM

Should be a hole in the frame down by the starter by the firewall, strap goes from the frame to the lower part of the firewall, and the other strap goes to the passenger side valve cover just like on the driver side. The straps were only used because of old radio's to keep the noise away from them mostly.

Look in the lower right side of this photo and you can see the strap

smokenjoep01 10-24-2013 02:59 PM

Thanks for the info guys. Im not trying to get a factory correct look. Just want my electrical system grounded properly. That being said. If I ground the block/valve covers on both sides to the firewall and run another ground from frame to firewall, would that be enough grounds to everything needed?
Ray it looks like your frame to firewall is on the left looking at the photo, is that right?

carpoor 10-24-2013 03:52 PM

Three should be fine, some cars only got one. Like Ray mentioned, some cars got extra based on what radio they were equipped with. My car has an am/fm 8 track.

shadowgray396 10-24-2013 07:17 PM

Ground strap is on the right side of the car inside of the rail to firewall. When the inner fender well is installed you do not see it.

smokenjoep01 10-27-2013 10:34 PM

WooHoo! I fired it up tonight. The motor started right up. It ran smooth for the entire 30 minute or so cam break in. Going to do some fine tuning tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUAI9A9esB4
Thank you all for every bit of your help. Couldn't have done it without yall on this forum.
