Boat is coming along now. It has new wood glass and vinyl. Finish up a few interior things and get the wiring back in shape. Then rebuild the engine. https://s5.postimg.cc/vc9cv6s8n/P_20...LL-640x640.jpg

FlintTony 05-19-2018 04:14 AM

Nice work! Looks amazing.

dconnor 05-22-2018 09:56 PM

I installed a new battery and changed the tranny fluid on my truck.

Yes you do and the first thing is pics.

Ms Grumpy 06-08-2018 04:31 PM

I need to get a front end alignment on my Chevelle. Just seems like something is off.

flash 06-08-2018 08:47 PM

Got the El Camino out of the shop today , had HEI Ignition , oil change and front brakes overhauled so I can go on the Hot Rod Power Tour in the morning .

carpoor 06-19-2018 01:24 PM

In the process of getting together a budget/game plan for the next step with my truck.

I need more power. Have a rebuilt LQ9 on the stand... the plan was to do porrted LS3 heads with a bigger cam and loose converter. But, in all reality... I daily drive this truck and tow trailers with it. So... basically now smallish single turbo or a supercharger. Best option seems to be a supercharger. I listed the LQ9 for sale tonight.

Replaced the front shocks on the motor home today. Not too bad a job, I've read horror stories on the RV forums about replacing shocks. They definitely needed replacing. The front axle is rated for 7,500 lbs. I stood the old shocks on the ground and collapsed them with one hand, very little pressure. Sure hope it was worth it, $320 for 2 Koni shocks, and improves the ride.

BillsCamino 06-29-2018 03:07 PM

Traded the wife's Buick in on a new Cadillac CTS yesterday.

FlintTony 07-04-2018 04:03 AM

Hank, did you drive it yet with the new shocks? Doug is on a 6 week Alaskan trip in his motorhome. He has had some bad luck so far.

Hank70SS 07-08-2018 07:21 AM

Hey, been busy. No, haven't driven it yet, going on a short trip Wednesday so we'll find out. Sorry to hear about Doug's misfortunes. Drive a house across the country and for some reason things go wrong. If you own a motorhome you better know something about electricity and mechanical or you're going to be paying somebody for something frequently.

FlintTony 07-09-2018 04:15 AM

Doug called last night. He is in Homer Alaska. Will be there for a week or so. Now has a broken windshield, from some clown flying down a gravel road driving a dump truck pulling a fenderless trailer. Cucumbers are 6 bucks each in Alaska. Milk was 10 bucks a gallon in Canada.

Hank70SS 07-09-2018 06:32 AM

Holy crap, that's an expensive trip.

Traded in the old Malibu and bought a new Equinox. It's one of the few vehicles with an auto trans that can be flat towed behind the motorhome. It doesn't weigh that much either. It's not a Cadillac but it actually has some pretty nice features. Now I have to order a new base plate for towing. Then I get to remove half the front end to mount it.

Hank70SS 07-09-2018 07:09 PM

Washed the motor home today. Scrubbed the roof the sides, front and rear. That was like a half a day washing that pig.

flash 07-09-2018 08:52 PM

I replaced a broken tail light on my Car trailer today . I had bought a replacement a while back and could not find it . I bought another new one and the first replacement one showed up as I knew it would . Im on vacation this week so Im just messing around until Friday morning , then Im heading to Nashville to a truck show .

Isn't that the way it always works.

Did drive the motorhome, maybe 500 miles total. Much better with the new shocks. Front tires are running 90psi, rear duals are 85psi. So you still feel every imperfection in the road. It did take care of the big bumps like bridge expansion joints. Suspension doesn't bottom out then throw you into the ceiling.

Sold the LQ9 last weekend, decided on piecing together a single turbo set up. Picked this up over the July 4th holiday.

flash 08-04-2018 08:38 PM

Washed my big White 97 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 truck so the Presidents husband would have a clean truck tomorrow . Shame Im On Call for work or I would be going with him on a road trip .

chevymaher 08-05-2018 06:03 AM

I am getting another vehicle today. A Tahoe. The durango is a cancer case. I am doing bodywork one last time. It does look good. But it is time for her to move on. Tahoe is a almost rust free body to start with.

I love the dragon and will use her the rest of this boating season. After this time it would be a rotisserie restoration and 99% body panel replacement. It isnt a chevelle so she got to go to rest.

carpoor 10-19-2018 06:38 PM

Finally installed my rear lowering hangers. That was a "fun" job.

Bought this yesterday...

http://i.imgur.com/dA1DtNc.jpg

2005 GMC SLE 4WD. Runs excellent, only has 160k miles. And did I mention that it was cheap?

Needs the rockers replaced. The guy has an 04 Silverado parts truck with perfect rockers, told me that I could take anything I needed off of the parts truck. The frame is solid on this truck. Needs the brake lines replaced, tires are pretty bald too.

I am going to fix all the cosmetics, go over the mechanicals, and give it to my mom. She has a 2002 Tahose with 200k + on the clock. It runs excellent, but she is due for an upgrade.

mestorod70 03-26-2019 10:55 AM

Put a new headliner in my 2002 jeep gran cherokee

carpoor 05-27-2019 05:18 PM

I finally finished lowering my truck about a month ago. Installed the spindles and pinion shims to correct the angle. Got the new tires put on also, slightly shorter than what I had before. Still need to have it aligned and fix the AC.

http://i.imgur.com/TGtSbyH.jpg

It is dropped 3" in the front and 4" in the rear vs. factory. The tire height is within 1/4 - 3/8 inch of factory.

FlintTony 05-28-2019 04:28 AM

Truck looks a lot better sitting down some. Are those wheels six lug?

carpoor 05-28-2019 10:37 AM

Thanks Tony, they are 6 lug. Billet Specialties Vintecs.

FlintTony 05-28-2019 05:48 PM

I like the wheels. They look good on there. I've been hunting for a set of wheels for my all wheel drive Chevy Express van. Those might be the ones.

Holy shit! I just checked prices on them! Made in USA though!

Haha... yeah, glad they came on my other truck. $2kish for a set of wheels. Mine are 18X8 & 18X9.5 front and rear.

AWD you say? That needs a turbo. :D

Check out Vision wheels, my father has a set on his Sierra. Not U.S.A. made, but have held up so far and look good. I think just under $500 for a set of 4.

carpoor 05-28-2019 06:56 PM

Here you go Tony...

I did front shocks, rotors, and pads on my daily driver Tahoe yesterday. Next Tuesday, on the lift to replace the front dampener seal. Damn thing is pissing oil everywhere. Doubt it will ever rust...

chevymaher 08-22-2019 04:24 PM

Dont bet on it. My durango was leaking like the exxon valdez. Lots of rust.

carpoor 08-22-2019 05:18 PM

Awhile back I redid the headliner and dyed an uncracked dash out of a donor truck. Today I finaly got around to putting the interior back together. Made a huge improvement.

I think a lot of Chrysler products come pre-rusted from the factory. :butt1:

Over the past few days I have replaced the front timing cover and seals on my Tahoe. Spent a lot of time cleaning up the oil slick and sludge. I also plugged a tire, had a chunk of metal in it. Didn't really resemble your typical nail or screw. Going to redo the driver's seat bottom next, I bought a new leather cover for it months ago.

FlintTony 08-29-2019 04:32 AM

Man, when is tha last time you had any time off? You sure do keep busy.

Finally got the '67 Camaro running with the LM7. Putting miles on it all this week to get the FiTech system to learn.

Also been helping a buddy with his frame off '56 Nomad project...Alston chassis; LS 6.0L w/4L60

I went on vacation in May of 2018 with my ex girlfriend. It was horrible. The seats in her car hurt my back. I was layed up the first few days. Then we got in a car accident. I couldn't wait to come home and work on cars. I'll rest when I'm dead.

FlintTony 09-01-2019 08:42 AM

I like you way of thinking. I'm going to die while I'm working.
