Motor looking good. Had the same problem with one of my pipe plugs.

Went through my old license plates and got the one I had my senior year of high school on my pickup that I had rebuilt from the ground up. Always liked it "MAG 007" so I have decided to put it on the Chevelle. Also found a new 70 sticker I never used so it will be also put on the plate. Should be street legal next week.

Got my engine and transmission installed today.

Also managed to install the starter, heat shield, and positive battery cable. Got the upper and lower a-arms installed too. It's starting to look like a car again.

I finished up the brakes on the vert today except for bleeding them ,maybe do that tomorrow .

I replaced the turn signal assy, the ignition switch and the key tumbler. Damn tumbler locked up on me at the store and had to pull the power to the distributor to shut it down, figured i should replace everything while i was in there.

Car poor, you HAVE to be excited about that! :D Lookin' good!

I went out to a friend of mine's yard and found a solid axle, brakes, steering, and spring for a C-Cab I'm building. While walking about, I also found a new heater box for the Chevelle!

He has cars saved up from the mid '30's all the way up to mid '70's. He doesn't have any "new" cars. ('80's and up) Talk about a fun place to walk around!

I picked up a correct 70 power steering pump awhile back. Mine is not correct, return line fitting comes out towards driver's side instead of down toward center of car. Cleaned up and painted the 70 pump along with my brackets the other day. Installed the whole mess today, sure looks purdy compared to the mess that was in there.

Just hope that 70 pump works okay, need to buy some new hose clamps and fill the pump before I check it out. If not, guess I can always sit and look at it even if I can't drive it.

Isn't it great to track down a "correct" part? I never used to care, now I rather enjoy it.

I am more stressed than excited to be honest. I keep finding items I have overlooked, and haven't had much time or good weather since Sunday to even touch the car. Today, I rented a spring compressor after work, came home and crashed on the couch for 2.5 hours. I had no intent to sleep, but my body had other plans. Hoping I feel more up to it tomorrow and can get the front coil springs in. I think I'll be more excited when I get it closer to starting for the first time. It has been such a long process, I don't know how people stay motivated on projects that take 5+ years. I started planning and gather parts for this project about two years ago. I pulled the drivetrain out in April of last year. And I am kind of burnt out to be totally honest. :(

I use correct in a different way. A hodge podge mess that was cobbled up is "incorrect, or wrong". If I say something is correct, it looks and functions like it came from the factory like that. The '66 Ford F150 I'm building is anything but stock, but I'm trying to make it look "correct" by making everything appear to have come that way from the factory.

I would have said original, but they are only original once. ;)
