My weekend
Took the old gal out yesterday for a long overdue ride. She performed well and got lots of compliments. Rowing the gears behind a big block is priceless and when those big butterflies on the rod quad open up she roars with new life even on my old tired truck motor....LOL. And then there was today. Took the wheels off cleaned and waxed them up, then changed the diffential fluid and replaced it with Mobil 1 synthetic. I could of put it right back in it was so clean. Got some synthetic grease and greased the front end.
It was hotter than the 4th of July but i made it. Now i'm kicked back smokin a cigar and drinkin a cold one....Life is good, |
It was a great weekend, for sure. I even let my daughter and her fiancee take the black car for a ride by themselves.

Tony invited us up to his place on Saturday so Lynda, Ray and I road up together. Got to see his new project, the 34 Ford sedan and the hemi engine. He grilled us dogs and even made 'tater salad for us. Tony's brother Doug and wife Tina were there and we just sat around and bull-shitted for the afternoon. Thanks Tony!.
Yesterday was a do nothing day. Went over to Baker's in the afternoon, Ric was there with his new 5 speed and Ray took his Harley which hasn't been on the road for 3 years. Didn't stay long, the heat and humidity made it miserable. |
I guess I am one of the few that loves heat and humidity.

Thanks again Tony, it was a nice afternoon. Maybe you guy's can come down this way, I'll host. We've been talking about a get together so if any other members want to drive to Brighton let's pick a date. Next weekend is out, Back to the Bricks/Dream Cruise weekend is out and Frankenmuth Autofest weekend is out. That leaves quite a few other weekends and I can handle 20+ cars no problem. |
I worked on my car the entire weekend. Man that felt good.
Changed out the GL5 for the Sta-Lube Hypoid 85w90 GL4 in my muncie. This car sat with the GL5 in it for at least 8 years and i didn't notice any abnormal amount of brass in the old fluid. It does seem to shift better though. |
