re: will it ever stop !

Well car has been at bodyshop for maybe a month now, he convinced me in getting new drip rails (old were dull ) , new headlight bezel (bent and damaged) , new rear bumper , new doors and trunk weatherstrip, while i was shopping got some new trim rings, new 327 emblems , and some decals. All from ... opgi . I shoped around and their price was reasonable. This just adds to my last list which I thought was final . Oh well ! ;- )

I hate to say it but no, it never ends. But its worth it :)

Ms Grumpy 07-28-2010 08:28 PM

It goes on and on and on and on and on and on....

But it is worth it !!

Reminds me of the song that never ends from Sesame Street. God I miss those days.:)

Even when they are done they are not really done.

Amen to that, drip rails can be polished without replacing them.

These cars are 40+ years old, of course it never ends. Heck, even the newer daily drivers need attention now and then.

Ms Grumpy 07-29-2010 07:48 PM

But worth every minute...

Yup, we had all of our original trim polished for about 10 bucks a foot. It came out beautiful !

Sometimes you just have to put your foot down, and say to him enough is enough.:)

On my recently done Belair, I kept a spreadsheet on the 'puter. NEVER again :D If it was a business, yep but as a hobby, naw not going to keep track on the next one.

I guess since this is the first car we have taken this far in a restoration, I am glad that I have kept all the purchase orders. I know I will one day look at them and say "Holy Crap I spent that much". But for right now, the folder is sitting on the bookshelf.

shadowgray396 07-30-2010 01:32 PM

I mention to my vendor that some day I was going to add up all the invoices I have from him and he said that he could tell me what I have spent already. He told me the total, and that was my words "Holy Crap".

Hello y'all ,
Stopped by the bodyshop today , after discussing he convinced me to keep the orignal drip rails (said he saved them , not cracked )and weatherstrips are in like new condition , so we will be keeping those as well. Good news after all. I'm waiting for a return email from opgi concerning my last order and my new order ,,, all I can say is that its been a couple of days now and no answer. I mean I ordered quite a bit over the last 2-3 years now , and i get better service at Mcdonalds! and they don't know me !!! Oh well, just letting out a bit of frustration.

grandsport 07-30-2010 08:33 PM

Believe me,this is the place to vent.:)

I feel your pain. It's easier to get a quick answer by phone.
