Later Model Chevelles 78 Up
 

Anyboby else like the 78 and up chevelles and caminos ? Im looking for a reasonably priced 78 and up malibu for Joan as a daily driver and Chuck Hanson has found me several to look at. Im going to call about one tomorrow that is nearby and see what happens. I wanted to get her a newer Mustang convertible but she doesnt want anything that new ,she wants an older car .

I like the later model Malibu. Even the wagons. Not too many left here in Michigan, least that I see on the street.

I am going Friday to look at a 79 Malibu ,its priced right and pics look good. Just have to see what surprises show up.

my neighbor just recently got his kid a 78-79 Elky,not a bad car/truck at all I talked them in to taking it to an all Chevelle/ El Camino show next weekend in Sturbridge Mass

I will be going to look at the malibu in a few hours to see what it looks like.

I did not get to look at it today as it was coming a gulley washer here ,severe thunder storms with road closures . Maybe later this weekend.

We looked at the 79 Malibu today ,but I wont be buying it. It was somewhat like he described it with a few exceptions. Interior was just ok, the surface RUST he had described was just a bit off. The whole bottom of the trunk lid was completely rusted through ,the drip rails were the same and a couple of bad spots on the quarters as well.So we continue our search for a 78 up Malibu creampuff .We may have to broaden our search to different makes as most of what we are finding are former drag cars.

Still looking, may try to find a chevy II , nova, ventura , who knows what we will come up with.

Found a nice Malibu on EBAY Motors but it was green and Joan said no to it. I thought it looked great but what do I know. Maybe we will find one before next year ,the Explorer passed emissions 1 more time . I hope it lasts another year.

Still looking for our Malibu ,may have the one found .Will keep you posted if it works out.

Looks like we are buying a 1980 Malibu tomorrow evening .

Congrats flash, I know you have been looking for a while.

The deal fell through as the car was not as he represented it .He promised me it was rust free. I told him I would take it if it was as he said it was.The car looked ok from about 50 feet ,but the closer you got the worse it got.It was straight and ding and dent free ,the paint was terrible .The interior was ok ,it ran and drove good. A/C blew cold .I was about to pull the trigger when something at the back window caught my eye. It had a rust hole you could stick your thumb through on both sides of the rear windshield under the trim.I told him I was no longer interested after finding the rust holes and he blew up on me calling me everything he could think of except honest .So I am still on the hunt for the right car. I did however buy a new Kubota tractor to be delivered on Thursday.

Taking a break from hunting a later model Malibu until I see if we trade the 55 Bel Air for a 30th anniversary Z28 convertible . If the convertible deal works out we wont need the malibu as a daily driver.

I got to see the Camaro convertible on Tuesday evening that Im thinking about trading for. It is absolutely perfect in every way. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor and has been driven only 27 miles last year. Ms Flash would change that miles thing.

No new ride yet ,still trying to get the 55 running and cleaned up. Old cars with old gas can be a pain in the rear. If I ever get her to run and get her clean the Camaro owner will come back for a look.Good thing hes not in a hurry.

Had to have the carb rebuilt on the 55 ,now she runs great .Gave her a quick bath and called my neighbor with the 97 Z28 convertible .He came and took her for a nice long cruise and I took his Z28 for a nice short cruise .He is going to let me know when we return from Cruisin The Coast if he wants to trade car for car .His Z28 is immaculate with 41000 miles ,never been in the rain even .Joan loves it so maybe it will wind up being hers .If not Ill just put for sale signs on the 55 and drive it til it sells.
