How much is insurance

I was wondering how much insurance is on 1969-1971 chevelles. I live in canada

grumpy 08-31-2010 04:03 PM

Not really sure how Canadian insurance works but down in the states, rates can vary widely from state to state, or company to company.

Are you looking for an agreed or stated value policy ?

I can only tell you what I pay here in Michigan and thats around 600.00 a year for 30K worth of insurance.

I know that one of our members here name Bolly is up in Canada, maybe contact him as to what his rates run there.

Go to Grundy Worldwide Classic car insurance. I am pretty sure they insure vehicles everywhere. I don't know how it works in Canada, but here in the states, using a regular car insurance is at least 4x's as much as using a classic car insurance.

grandsport 08-31-2010 06:38 PM

What,no national car insurance yet?:p

Trophyman 08-31-2010 07:18 PM

Shhhhhhhhh........
We already have national health care coming.
Cars and houses have got to be next. Lots of money there.

Randy

OH....don't remind me...we have the national health care coming too.

Saw a bumper sticker:
"SO WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR GUY NOW?"

change it BACK!!!

Read the fine print on your proposed policy and make sure you know about agreed/stated value differences.

sr8up, car insurance in Ontario is a case by case basis, depending on many factors... can't give you any figures what it might cost you... you're gonna have to look through the yellow pages and call as many Ins Companies as you can for quotes

Hank70SS 09-01-2010 07:45 AM

Not sure about Grundy's but Hagerty won't insure a daily driver. Here I think you would have to go to a regular insurance company not one that specializes in classic cars.

I have a friend has his Firechicken with these people; http://www.lant-ins.ca/index.php

I do know that in the States, if you have a classic car or historical car plate, then your insurance costs will be different, because you have limitations on driving your car. Now I have a regular plate on my car so that I can drive it anytime. But the downside to that is that the insurance cost a little more.

I'm married. I already have limitations on driving my car.:p

Sorry, don't you guys just love me?:)

Here in the US, we have something called the AARP, an association for retired people. I have my classic car insurance through them, as they’re supposed to get better deals with insurance companies for their members.
