3 months into my project.
And it is going pretty well.Sunday we pulled the motor, got it on the stand and I must have stared at it for an hour or so deciding where to start first.Nice having no suprises as far as the numbers on the block, etc. The numbers and date coded parts I have purchased so far are as follows
1.The crown jewel is my Qudrajet. It's a work of art.:) 2.Correct intake 3.409 Master cylinder with bb code 4.Correct water pump 5.Correct wiper motor 6.Date coded engine lifts 7.Correct numbers pulleys 8.Correct dist. Still looking for a 772 fan and a fuel pump.I spend the better part of a month redoing all the brackets, front coils and a frames after they were bead blasted.I had the steering box rebuilt and resealed while it was off along with the brake calipers.I can't believe he still had the original ball joints,so we replaced them along with all the other suspension pieces, which are all painted and ready to go.The next couple of weeks will be freshinging up the frame and firewall and hopefully have the motor ready to put back in by the first of March.I'm really having fun doing this and can't wait to see it finished. It also makes things a little easier when one of top 70 experts in the country lives 12 miles away from you.:) |
I may have a correct fuel pump, but will need to be rebuilt. What date code do you need on the 772 fan? I will keep my eyes and ears open for one. I'm going to a swap meet in a few weeks and can look there for you. Mine is dated Jan of 70.

Is there anything on these cars that are not date coded and can you see them when they are installed on the car ?

After I read this, I feel like such a butcher.

Gary, Im not a numbers guy ,would'nt know where to even start .But I dont knock anyone for enjoying the hobby in their own way .If we did everything the same it sure would get boring pretty quick. And dont you be deleting any post as I enjoy them all. Keep up the good work on HIM and keep us posted.

I like to see a picture of your Qjet, so I know how mine should look. There nothing wrong with this post, I have spent the last five years trying to get the correct parts. Keep moving ahead and build it the way you want it. My hats off to you. :ntwrthy:
