The most awesome bithday gift

I am one lucky lady. My birthday celebrating started last night with dinner with my oldest daughter. Then going out to breakfast with the hubby, where he told me that he was going to get my car professionally detailed and waxed. On to lunch with my mother and sister. Then birthday dinner with my kids and David.

The kids set up a cake with candles and out came a bag with a few small gifts from them and and 2 cards. One from the kids the other from David.

I opened the card from David and there were 2 pictures inside:
  • Picture 1) NITTO INVO TIRES
  • Picture 2) TORQ THRUST M RIMS 17 x 8

HE BOUGHT ME A SET OF 4 FOR MY CHEVELLE !!!!!

I am one lucky lady !!!

grandsport 03-01-2011 08:47 PM

My my,how times have changed.

Ms Grumpy 03-01-2011 09:01 PM

It is a hard situation. We want to make sure that everything fits so the tires and rims are still at the tire store. The problem is we have to take the car there and make sure that the tires fit. BUT the weather needs to be nice enough to drive it there.

It is still winter, and the roads still have salt on them, and the temps have been hovering around 32 degrees so some of the roads have some water on them, so what do I do. The tire store is literally only 2 miles from my house, so I just need for mother nature to cooperate and give me the perfect day.

grandsport 03-01-2011 09:24 PM

Flatbed it there!

shadowgray396 03-01-2011 10:33 PM

Nice gift for sure. Look foward to seeing some pictures.

Weather permitting, I will take my car to get the tires and rims put on tomorrow, Tuesday.

I am going to charge the camera tonight and hopefully will have pics tomorrow.

I cannot wait !!!

grandsport 03-07-2011 10:33 PM

Just make sure Dave didn't scrimp and buy you them square wheels from Walmart.

flash 03-08-2011 02:55 PM

shadowgray396 03-08-2011 05:32 PM

flash 03-08-2011 07:35 PM

I was bored ,but excited for MS Grumpy .

Ms Grumpy 03-08-2011 08:44 PM

So here it is !!!! I just didn't have a chance to get on here earlier to post pics of my car with the new rims on it. I just posted a couple pics, if you want to see a lot more just go to my albums. I did one just on the pics we took today. The most amazing thing is that I actually think that with these tires and rims, I think that I need to lower the front end, just a little. The pics don't do these rims justice. They are absolutely beautiful !

Your car looks amazing. Love the look. Maybe a touch lower would be the finishing touch. Nice Birthday gift. Going to look great at the car shows this year. :ntwrthy: :ntwrthy:

We got a pic to check out your new Camaro. I really dig it. Didn't look under the hood. Whats your plans for the car. Street, strip or both ?

By the way I love the rims too.

flash 03-09-2011 06:18 AM

Hi Glenn,

It has been a while....And yes we did see your new hotrod. It is cool !!! Did you keep the motor from the other car ? We didn't look under the hood, we just peeked inside the car. I can't wait to see it at the track. Keep us up to date on the progress.

You know what flash, I am the last person to say that it needs to go lower. I think we have had a few conversations on here about not lowering the car. I think that I will have to wait till all the snow is gone and then get the car out and drive it to see how I feel.

I think that grumpy did a good job too. I am still on cloud nine. We just can't tell him or he will want to do more things to my car.

smokenjoep01 03-09-2011 01:20 PM

Sweeeeeet!

Derek69SS 03-09-2011 03:15 PM

Looks great!

I'd lower it about 4 inches in front and 3 in the rear. :p

Ms Grumpy 03-09-2011 03:56 PM

Ya know what Derek, when we first talked about posting pics, we talked about you. In a good way. We both said that you would say that we needed to lower it, but I think that 4" might be tough. I don't know if I could pull it into my garage.

My garage sits up higher than my driveway, which is on an incline up to the garage, in the past if I pulled in to quickly I would hit my collector. Since having the car done I have plenty of clearance, now I don't think that we could lower it 4", but I am sure that it will be lowered some. We will keep everyone informed.

Thank you for the kind words.
