2010 Ford F150 Super Crew

Highway Star 03-14-2011 09:26 AM

Right now, my wife and I are sharing her 2003 Buick Century.

My 1996 K1500 Suburban is still setting at the house, DEAD.

smokenjoep01 03-14-2011 09:29 AM

My significant other and I are also sharing a vehicle. 1999 GMC 1500 4X4. We purchased the Chevelle so one of us each hada vehicle to drive when it was cold or raining. We have five motorcycles.
The Chevelle should be done right around hot season.

Mine was my 72 Chevy truck ,but its being taken apart for rust repairs. I now get to drive my wifes old 96 Ford Explorer since she got a Sport Track.

Hank70SS 03-14-2011 11:28 AM

07 Malibu, that's mostly Lynda's and an 02 Chevy Z71.

Derek69SS 03-14-2011 11:29 AM

Today is my LAST day daily-driving my wagon...

http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/da...ium/L-SIDE.JPG

I love the car, but I'm sick of using 3 gallons/day just to get to work...

I just bought a '99 Oldsmobile Intrigue, and will transfer the title & put insurance on it today, then start driving it tomorrow. It's a boring V6 FWD sedan, but it'll save me almost $4/day in gas.

Did you switch out the Firestones? HAHA

flash 03-14-2011 01:36 PM

Those original Firestone tires were the best tires Ive ever had ,got 65,000 miles out of them with no problems .Cant say that for the last 2 sets .

My daily driver may make a few people upset, so I am going to give you a little back story on it.

About 3 years ago David and I decided that we were going to buy our first brand new car. Gas prices were on the rise, and we wanted to have something that got decent gas milage. I had just given my son my Chevy Venture, and we actually looked at buying a used one, but people were ridiculous on what they wanted for one, so we started looking for a new car. It had to be able to fit the 5 of us, and of course David at 6'4" had to be able to fit in it and be able to drive it. Believe it or not there are a lot of cars and trucks that he just couldn't fit into.

We looked at the Chevy HHR, it was too small and too much money. We wanted an Impala but they wanted way too much money. We spent 3 months looking on line and going to dealerships. Many of the dealerships told us they were NOT dealing/haggling on the prices of anything we wanted. So we went back to what we needed, room for the 5 of us and good gas milage.

We finally walked into a Toyota dealership, and test drove a Yaris. It fit everything that we needed. The one we looked at had a broken side window and they were waiting on parts, but another dealership had another Yaris on it's lot and we went and looked at it, and bought it. At the time we bought ours, the car was rated at 39mpg. I honestly think that I have gotten over 42mpg on the highway.

The recession hit hard three months after we bought the Yaris. So if we had waited for another 3 months to buy a car, we could have gotten anything that we wanted in our price range.

So my daily driver is a 2008 Toyota Yaris, 39+mpg. I hope nobody is too mad at me.

Derek69SS 03-14-2011 02:42 PM

Nancy, there was a supercharged Yaris at a hillclimb event I did last summer... it was crazy fast through the autocross portion at the bottom of the hill. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner though. :o

Ms Grumpy 03-14-2011 04:12 PM

Mine doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner....but.....hmmmmmm... you are giving me ideas.....

Rattler 03-14-2011 05:23 PM

My daily driver is a 2002 Monte Carlo SS and the wife drives a 2005 Avalanche

Looks like a nice car Nancy,

"So my daily driver is a 2008 Toyota Yaris, 39+mpg. I hope nobody is too mad at me"

Wish my truck got 39 mpg. I drive a 2005 Toyota Tundra, it only gets 15 miles mpg. Looking for a small car, maybe I go get a yaris.

grandsport 03-14-2011 07:28 PM

Maureen just got a 2011 Town and Country.I'm driving a Hyundai SantaFe.

chantel 03-14-2011 08:18 PM

I have a couple,a 2007 Impala and 2008 Suburban which are my daily drivers.I no complaints with both,my 2007 Impala has a very nice ride and gets me to point a to point b.I do keep both maintained very well including washing, cleaning and vacuuming them.I don't treat my Impala and Suburban as a trash can.

x2, mine is an 05 Ram 1500 v6 17mpg. Only seven more payments though and she's all mine!

Hank70SS 03-15-2011 07:43 AM

I don't know what kind of mileage my truck gets. If I was worried about the mileage I wouldn't have bought a full size 4 wheel drive pickup. I could check it sometime but what good would that do? I'm sure it sucks and knowing what it is exactly won't change anything, it'll still suck.

My wife drives a 2006 Chrysler 300C. Yeah...its got a Hemi (340hp). :D It has the cylinder displacement technology where it goes to 4 cyl on the highway. She gets around 20mpg (highway). One thing to note: my wife drives this car like an old lady to conserve gas. Lol
I drive a 00 Z-71 Silverado. Along time ago I checked the gas millage and got around 14-15mpg. I pulled a 24' enclosed trailer with my friends 62 impala loaded inside to a carshow and averaged 7-8mpg.

Brian .... she tells you she drives it like an old lady....or maybe she does when you are in the truck. But, you give a woman a car with some power and I don't care what she tells you....she is gonna step on it !!!!

SS Shaun 03-15-2011 01:53 PM

chantel 03-15-2011 08:49 PM

Only thing I get sometimes with my suburban is the middle finger from the Ford guys.I have the little boy (Calvin) urinating on the Ford emblem sticker including the bite me Ford boy sticker.I do get thumbs up from the Chevy guys.

Warputer 03-17-2011 06:00 AM

2006 Scion....35 mpg

Ms Grumpy 03-17-2011 07:32 PM

I think I have been amazes with the daily drivers that everyone has. I guess we all have to try to get the best gas mileage we can when not driving our classics. With gas being over $3.80 a gallon for premium, it only makes sense.

Cheeky Monkey 03-23-2011 02:49 PM

A 2006 GMC hd 2500 Duramax chipped piped and a custom intake .I did a 1/4 mile test in St anthony ID el. 5000' 16.3 sec

wakefoot 03-23-2011 09:23 PM

I have a 01 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton with the Duramax and also have an 08 BMW 5 series which is amazingly fast and handles great.

bolly 04-10-2011 04:55 AM

2006 Subaru Impreza!!!

2feet of snow and 4 gislaved nordfrost 5's and it's like a hot knife through butter!!!

Chevelle_Nut 04-10-2011 07:48 AM

I drive a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird Convertible 106+ miles each day, it is feeling its age and has let me down a few times but in the end it gets better mileage than my SUVs. My wife drive a 2005 Pontiac Vibe for her 70 mile commute, unfortunately we go opposite directions to work so carpooling is not an option.

chevelle7267 04-10-2011 01:22 PM

My daily driver is a 2000 GMC Sierra Stepside. Has a 4300 vortec and does good to get 12 mpg. But most of my trips are in town.

this, barring a complete motor melt down, will be next years daily rider!! (when it's sunny out)

V4, liquid cooled, 2 stroke

grandsport 10-23-2011 08:02 PM

Right now it is a Genesis coupe.

flash 10-24-2011 06:17 AM

Im still driving my old worn out 96 Ford Explorer until my 72 Chevy truck comes home from the bodyshop one daysoon maybe.

earthquake68 10-24-2011 07:43 AM

Hmmm, I thought I answered this one. I guess not. Mileage isn't an issue with me. I work out of the shop at home, so my shop is literally closer to walk to than my daily driver parked in the driveway. :D

Anyway, here she is. A '79 Ford 4x4. I back-dated the grill to a '77.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...anFord0012.jpg

Tiff has an '01 Olds Aurora. It's pretty nice and only has 130K on it. (not bad for 10+ years old)

fleming23 10-24-2011 07:52 AM

I got bored last year when the Chevelle was in 5000 pieces and picked up a 10' Mustang GT...which was fun for about a year and could have been a pretty nice performing car with a little bit of work but just got tired of it I guess (It did get around 22-24 mpg each week and made just shy of 280 rwhp). It was loud and a 5 speed and would rip the tires loose at will.

Sold the GT for a 2012 TL a couple months ago. I had an 06 TL previously and man, I could sleep in this thing!

2002 Cadillac SLS w/82,000 miles. Averages 21 mpg. Smoothest car i've ever rode in. My wife had a 07 Trailblazer SS until a few months ago. We traded it for a new Z71 LTZ. The trailblazer only had 70k on it and was constantly breaking down. The only thing I can guess is that we just got a bad one. I absolutely loved driving it when it was running right!!

It wasn't just you. Trail Blazers have been less than dependable. I work on quite a few with computer and running issues.

68ChevelleSS 10-27-2011 03:33 AM

It was mostly little things. like the fuel gauge would quit working, just die going down the road for no reason. Always something that made me not comfortable with my wife driving it. That LS2 ran like a champ though!
