Sneak Peak

Now that I have the windows finished on the right side of the car and finished puting on some of the trim around the windows so I test fitted some of the interior panels in the back seat area. Should have my back seat early next week finally.

I always loved the look of white interior but with my kids...
Can't wait to see pics of her all together.

shadowgray396 04-02-2011 09:49 PM

When I saw them on thursday they look great. They are dying the head rest to refresh them up to match the seats. I will get some pictures early next week when I pick them up.

Ms Grumpy 04-03-2011 03:36 PM

The waiting....what a killer....

shadowgray396 04-08-2011 03:36 PM

Seats are home

Finally got my seats today. Going to be out of town for the next ten days so I won't get to put them in for a few weeks.

Ray

Hank70SS 04-09-2011 06:46 AM

Beautiful Ray. That pearl white is really sharp.

Finally got back to the car today

Made some more progress finally today on the chevelle. Spent most of the day adjusting all the side windows, took down some of the headliner and reglued it to tighten it up, finished test fitting the real panels and seats. Not happy with the upper back seat needs to be tighten up some, has some bumps in it that should not be there. Need to find some seat belts, I'm missing a couple for the back. Once I have them I can finished the rear section. One question i have are the screws correct for the lower rear panels?

Hank70SS 04-22-2011 06:13 AM

I believe those are the correct screws Ray. Also the upper side panel, see how it bows in from the lower panel. Mine were doing the same thing, I placed some soft foam rubber behind them to hold it out against the lower panel.

BTW, coming along nicely, car is looking really good.

smoke' em II 04-22-2011 09:24 AM

Ray, the pearl white interior paint you found is a perfect match. What brand and part number did you use?

Thanks Hank, I was thinking of trying something to get it stay out. I will try the foam rubber. I didn't like the look with the gap.

I ended up sending them to TWI where I got the door panels and the seat covers and they painted everything for like $75 and shipped it back to me.

I have heard that SEM Color Coat Phantom White #15003 matches the pearl white interior also.

shadowgray396 05-06-2011 11:00 PM

Moving ahead slowly, waiting for a new upper back seat cover. Didn't like the way it looked. Had to many wrinkles in it. TWI is sending me a new one for free.

Its gonna be SWEEEEET .

grandsport 05-15-2011 09:19 PM

At first glance,I thought Bob Hope was breaking into your car.

shadowgray396 06-23-2011 12:56 AM

Finallly got the right door panel to fit correctly and stay hooked at the top. Bet I had 10 hours into getting every line up and the window working corectly with out pulling the seals out from under the door panel. Not sure about the carpet kit I have. Doen't fit all that well. Wonder if the one from Ground up is any better then the one from trim parts. Carpet looks sloppy over the hump area's just like the picture above or last post on page 2.

Ms Grumpy 06-23-2011 08:46 PM

Beautiful car..Can't wait to see it done..I am jealous..

flash 06-23-2011 09:01 PM

Ray ,I added extra padding under the hump area and it looked alot better .It tightened it up considerably .

Thanks John, I was thing about that tonight after talking with my uphostery guy. Made some real progress tonight. I got my upper back seat back today.
Plan to work on the front half carpet this weekend and see if I can get my buckets installed. Still not sure how to cut the carpet around the buckets in front even after doing research on it.
