CB11 Watch out cause here we come !

Spent all day preparing for CB11. Car is waxed, will put it into the trailer in the morning. Hoping I did not forget anything. We have a few ideas to possibly showcase some of the cars we see, taking 2 cameras and the camcorder. I cannot wait. We will be leaving in the morning and hope to be pulling into hotel parking lot about 8pm. See ya there !!

Can't wait to meet you.

It is 77 degrees here at 7am. I just hope that the weather cooperates this weekend. I have so much to do, but I just had to stop in and wish everyone safe travels to CB11.

We will do our best to post every evening, depending on how tired we are.

P.S.
We will miss you grandsport, but hope to see you at the Ohio Show.

Chevelle_Nut 06-08-2011 06:17 AM

It is supposed to be 95 degrees this week down here so bring cool clothes. It will be great to meet you too.

My car is easy to find, a Blue 69 4 door post car with silver 70-72 stripes on the hood and trunk.

shadowgray396 06-08-2011 09:26 AM

Have a great time.

grumpy 06-08-2011 10:02 PM

Construction blew. Was hoping to make it here by 6 or 7. We rolled in closer to 9.Theres several chevelles in the parking lot. Looking forward to meeting their owner soon.

Dave

After driving for over 10 hours we go to the DaysInn and looked at the steep driveway, while thinking holy crap ! The van and trailer made it up the steep grade, but not without scraping a little. So today we are going to take the trailer over to Moss Wright Park and park it there, with the show. This way if we need the golf cart, tools, to put the car away or anything, it will be closer and on a flat surface.

Walked around the parking lot this morning to see a lot of beautiful cars. The hotel, like many others around here, is sold out, so parking is at a prime and you see many orange cones from the Chevelles who don't wanna lose their spots.

We look forward to seeing John (flash) and Joan later, as well as seeing grandsport if he decides to come. Plus meeting many more people.

After talking to the people in the parking lot we found out that registration starts at 10am. So it is almost time to go, but I just had to stop in and let you know how excited we are to be here.

I hope everyone has as good of a day, as I anticipate having !

shadowgray396 06-09-2011 08:01 PM

Sounds like a great day. Sunny day here also today.

smokenjoep01 06-10-2011 06:26 AM

Sounds like a fun time. Im surprised to read that you all trailer these cars. Is that what the majority of participants do? Why do yall choose to trailer rather than drive?

Ms Grumpy 06-10-2011 07:17 AM

We trailered our car because it was almost 600 miles each way. The trans has less than 100 miles on it, the motor less than 200 miles on it. And no air conditioning. I know the people from the north complain about the cold. But damn, the heat and humidity here...it sucks ! Proof of that was the fact that by noon at CB11 an ambulance arrived to take someone to the hospital because of the heat. I wish I could have brought some cold weather with us.

Ms Grumpy 06-10-2011 07:21 AM

Some of people say they don't trailer their car when they drive into CB11. But then you see them at the hotel, where their trailer is parked.

Chevelle_Nut 06-10-2011 07:43 AM

I have 2 kids so the car would be trashed after a 500 mile trip so it rides in the trailer. If it was just the wife and I the car would be driven.

It is hot for sure. We are going to camp out under the tent today and try to keep cool.

We have the 69 4 door this year, one of the few 4 doors this year.

Bowtie-Bri 06-10-2011 02:52 PM

I've been there a few times and it does get HOT, but with all the beautiful cars and the awesome people, I can put up with a little heat. Wish I could be there with Ya'll. Drink lots of  or water which ever you prefer. :D

Rharp 06-10-2011 04:43 PM

I hope everyone has a great time. I would love to be out there also, but since my car is not here yet & the fact that it's so far away I will be staying home.
Tane and I did go to Camaro fest in Phoenix back in April .
That sounds alot like what this is. We had a blast.
Again have fun and stay safe.........

Ms Grumpy 06-10-2011 07:59 PM

I had the opportunity to meet Chevelle Nut and his son today. What a nice guy, and his 4 door ain't too bad either. I took many pics of his car and hope to have it as one of our feature cars really soon.

shadowgray396 06-10-2011 08:04 PM

We need pictures of all the fun you are having, and some pictures of your car there.

:worthless:

Ms Grumpy 06-10-2011 08:08 PM

Check out my albums ! I posted over 100 pics yesterday. I still have to download and size the ones in my 2 cameras from today.

I am doing the best I can Captain !

Hey Bill, please stop by and see Nance and I. We would love to shoot some pics of you car and make it one of our feature cars of the site.

Ms Grumpy 06-11-2011 08:39 PM

We braved the weather today and had another great day. Took more pics of some beautiful Chevelles and El Caminos to showcase on the site. We are so sunburn and tired that we are calling it a night. We head out at 6am tomorrow for the long drive home.

We might post tomorrow, depends on traffic and how long it takes us to get home. I hope everyone had a great weekend and I look forward to catching up over the next few days. Heck I haven't even looked at my e-mail since Wed., that alone is going to take me a day to sort thru.

Derek69SS 06-12-2011 08:36 AM

Calling it a night at 9:39 on Saturday? There should be a law against that. :D

I've been there twice and never been to bed before 2:00a.m. on any of the nights... latest was just before 5:00 on Sunday morning in '08. Some of the early-risers were starting to come out to get their cars ready for the trip home when I decided to go to bed... good thing about the heat, you can sweat-out a hangover real quick. :)

flash 06-12-2011 12:53 PM

We just got settled in a while ago ,what a great weekend .Got the Chevelle unpacked and stored away in the shop until our next adventure. It was great seeing everyone and meeting new friends .Boy was it ever hot .

Ms Grumpy 06-12-2011 08:07 PM

We left at 7am. Had to load the car in the parking lot across the street, because that driveway into the Days Inn is dangerous. It is a very steep driveway, and we had a trailer that sat low and dragged, even without the car in it.

Pulled into my driveway at 5:30pm. We finally got the car unpacked, trailer unpacked and car put away by 6:30pm. Then came the fun of unloading suitcases and bags we brought home, then dinner. I am just now sitting down to post a little.

What a weekend. It was so hot !! I had fun but am so tired, but happy to be home to
70 degrees.

flash 06-12-2011 08:38 PM

We left at 6:30 AM and got home at noon Georgia time .

I can still handle a late night or two, even in a row, but not in the sun. The meds I take will put me on my ass, or in the hospital. Really wanted to go hang out with the gang.

We must have just missed saying good bye to you. It was interesting trying to park those trailers in the parking lot on Sat. night.

flash 06-13-2011 08:42 PM

It was very hard to go back to work today .

Chevelle_Nut 06-13-2011 09:13 PM

I am not going back till Monday!

Ms Grumpy 06-14-2011 06:55 PM

I had to get back to working immediately. I had over 700 e-mails. But the memories made it all worth it.

Glad to hear that everyone made it home safely. The only issue we had was one of the detours had such steep hills that the brakes on the trailer were smoking. And to top it all off, my brother told me today that all the way there and all the way home his "check engine" light was on. It ended up just being the breather element. He said he didn't tell me cause he didn't want me to worry and he wanted me to have a good time. What a great guy !

Chevelle_Nut 06-14-2011 07:18 PM

We made it home today, it will be good to sleep in my own bed tonight. The Ford pulled the trailer and car like a champ over the mountains, gotta love a diesel.
