Hello to all.

My name is Dan and my wife (Deb) and I own a 1970 Chevelle base model, 307, auto trans, rubber floor mats, 2 door hard top. As best as we can tell it has 34k original miles on it. Sat in the Arizona desert for several years and the sun did a job on it but at least it's not a rust bucket. We're just getting started on a restoration. I'm retired auto body tech and painter so I've got a lot of experience on the body/painter side but limited $$. Just want to make it a nice lookin' driver. Figure it will take a few years.

Welcome Dan. Waving
Good to see another fellow Az. dweller. I am in the same shoes as you. I use to work at a custom paint shop, so I can make my wagon's body nice. Just glad we do not have that rust thing in this state. I am just going to make mine a nice looking driver. I hope to make it up your way next year for the Route 66 show. That thing is a blast. I do not think the wagon can make the trip this year. But I will have it ready for next.
So lets see some PICS!!
Have Fun!
Matt

Welcome to the site, Dan!

I'm kinda new in here myself, but not new to hotrods or Chevelles. I've owned a bunch of them over the years. I have my own hotrod shop and I'm putting a '64 SS together right now. If you need advice on the mechanical, just give a holler.

......and yes, let's see some pictures! :D

Welcome Dan and Deb. Those of us here in the "rust belt" wish that we could get ahold of a sun dried car instead of one with lots of "Michigan Gold".

I can't wait to see pics of your car.

Tell me about this Route 66 show and were still waiting on those pictures .

flash and his mrs. are the car show king and queen. They drive her '72 convertible everywhere. So if he could work another car show into his schedule I think that he would. And I will tell you that you would be lucky to meet them.

No you have that wrong ,WE are the lucky ones to get to meet everyone .

Welcome Dan and Deb to the site from another 70 owner. Sounds like a nice solid car to start with and youhave the skills to make it very nice car again.

Car sounds very cool! Do the '70 base model cars have unique door panels and seat upholstery like the earlier ones had? If so, DON'T THROW ANY OF IT AWAY. It's cheaper to replace with Malibu stuff, but that base-model stuff is really hard to find.
