dont laugh at me! but how do you install the alternator? I have the bracket in a box but i have no clue how to mount it can someone get me some pics or something please

Isn't there one on the car already ? So you can take that one off and put the new one on ? sorry...I had to giggle... :)

Beware this is a 70 set up with a long water pump, a short water pump with a short block may be different.

69 to 72 use the same brackets. I do not recognize the one you have.

yeah i am going to have to order a new one so i can put it on some times next week just to clear out some stuff

That looks like the bracket for a '66-ish with the upper and lower brackets bolted together. The adjuster arm gets bolted to the intake and the lower bracket gets bolted to the block. (on the driver's side) You can get all different kinds of brackets if you don't need bone stock. Here's what I came up with on my Nova.
