I think that special forum does not allow those that enjoy their sheep WITH mint jelly .... oh man what a combination.!! Maybe I can post some pics .... or would that be over the top??

As promised .....

I have a leg-o-lamb in the freezer that I plan on BBQing up next ..... anyone got a reciepe???

Rattler 10-03-2011 03:28 PM

Found this just for you :D

Barbecue Lamb Recipe

1 leg of lamb
fresh mint
dry mustard
pepper
onion juice
1/2 cup butter
1/2 clove garlic
1 tablespoon grated onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
salt and pepper

Preheat the barbecue or indoor grill.

Have the butcher bone and flatten the leg of lamb. At least 2 hours before cooking, cover the leg with fresh mint. Rub with dry mustard, pepper and onion juice.

Mix together 1/4 cup of the butter, the 1/2 clove garlic and a tablespoon of minced onion. Gently cook for 5 minutes to create a sauce. Take out the garlic and add 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves and the last 1/4 cup of butter.

Place the lamb on the grill and brush often with the warm sauce while it cooks. After 20 minutes, season the meat with salt and pepper and turn it over to grill on the other side.

If you like your lamb pink, it should be done in 35-45 minutes. If you prefer well-done, it will take about 15 minutes longer.

You know why shepherds wear robes?

Because sheep can hear a zipper from a mile away. :D

I dont know much about sheephurters and what they wear, nor do I care ... but maybe I would feel less threathened if they didnt walk around with those big ol' canes....... and whats the deal with the fur-lined boots??

... but reading Rattler's reciepe I have questions about this part "If you like your lamb pink, it should be done in 35-45 minutes. If you prefer well-done, it will take about 15 minutes longer. "... isnt lamb like ham .... gotta kill the worms by scorching the meat? or else its a trip to sickbay!!!.... and I wonder which leg of the "lego-lamb" I am bbq-ing? .... seems like front legs might taste alittle less "gamey" than the rear legs .... I'll have to google that.

Dang Gary that is exactly what these internet forums are all about i.e., recognizing a personal excess and making a "from the heart" offering to a bro.

Thanks for the offering but I think I will pass. I havent had canine cuisine since my Army days in Korea and even back then , while chewing the fat, I had these deep-rooted feelings of doing mis-deed and violating the trust between man and dog, "Never again" I told myself, ..... but if you have any tried and tested rover reciepes then feel free to post them here .... to each their own!

Who am I to judge?? LOL
