Rics new ride.....
http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_7070.jpg
Ric just got home with his new 72 SS Camaro. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_7071.jpg |
Nice car Rick ! Love the color. Where did you find it ?
Just wondering is there a house on that land or is it all garage space ? |

He found the Camaro in my garage. That's my dump he's pulling out of. Did you see the tears on the ground as I watched the car pull away? |

Sorry for your loss Tony. But you can still go visit her. |
Very nice looking ride.
|
Can I have your other leftovers ,that is nice.

The car will be taken real good care of and is tucked away underneath the Chevelle now waiting for next spring. Now when Leslie goes shopping I have to keep quiet as she was nice enough to let me get another toy. Attachment 1647 Attachment 1648 |
That's a nice set of cars Ric. Looks like there is a foot or so of space between them. I gotta come out and have a look at your new lift.
|
You need to put the Camaro up on the lift Ric. I've seen the car before and crawled over and under it, hope I didn't leave any finger prints on it. The under carriage looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

Tony, how long is my warranty good for? The clock does not work....ha Quote:

I was going to mention it being a small block. When are we throwing in the big block? I'm available and my busted butt is doing pretty good, not perfect yet but getting better.
|
WHAT!!!!!! The stinkin clock doesn't work? Bring that piece of junk back for a FULL refund!

Hank...I bought the car a few years ago. I looked for a while for a very nice second gen that I could do an engine, trans, suspension upgrade to. After I got it here and had a good look at it, I got to thinking that is was too nice of a car to take apart. I know Darwin Clark. He came up and looked at it. He changed my mind somewhat about leaving it alone. He said it was a museum piece, and he should know. Here's a little info on him.
Darwin Clark Independent Management Consulting Professional Location Greater Detroit Area Industry Management Consulting Darwin Clark's Overview Current •President of the Board at AACA Museum Past •GM Vice President Industry Dealer Affairs at General Motors •VP Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at GM Europe •General Marketing Manager at Buick Motor Division Connections 173 connections Darwin Clark's Experience President of the Board AACA Museum 2007 – Present (4 years) GM Vice President Industry Dealer Affairs General Motors Public Company; 10,001+ employees; GM; Automotive industry June 1999 – June 2004 (5 years 1 month) I first became GM Vice President in 1994 resposible for Sales, Marketing, Service and Parts GM Europe. Next was General Manager Oldsmobile Division, followed by Vice President and General Manager Field Sales, Service and Parts, then retiring as VP Industry Dealer Affairs VP Sales, Marketing and Aftersales GM Europe 1992 – 1996 (4 years) General Marketing Manager Buick Motor Division 1986 – 1993 (7 years) Darwin has some nice cars. He's also the head of one of the museums in Arizona. I had a healthy LT1 from the Nova, a fresh M20, a new scattershield, and some other stuff for it. I think the car is one of the nicest, unmolested originals in the Country. The interior is like new, the glass, trim, sheet metal, all the small clamps, are just about perfect too. The valve covers and the air cleaner are not original, but the originals came with the car. So did all 4 CL steel wheels, with the original baby moon hub caps. Not a single speck of rust, ever, on the car either. POP, dealer ordering sheet, all registrations from new are included. I am sure that Ric will make the car better than it is now. |
Ms. Grumpy...Every garage stall here is full. I'd put up another building if the stinking Township would let me. They say I have too many garages now. Pashaw, we all need more garage space.
|
I was just kidding on the engine Tony. I saw the car and I knew what your original plans were. I agree it would be same to change anything on it, probably has the original air in the tires. :D

I figured that Hank. Like Ric said though, there is a hell of a difference in the feel of a BB over that low-horse small block. When you coming up for a beer? |
The car is not perfect, everyone keeps forgetting that the clock does not work, so with that defect I can start ripping it apart....maybe some louvers on the side, some curb feelers, some 24" spinners and tires and a blower air cleaner sticking out the hood...I'm charging my zaw saw as we speak.
|
Now yer talkin Ric! Git 'er done!!

Tony, how does week after next work for you, check you schedule. Tuesday or Thursday would work best, therapy Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but i can make any day work. Henry is having hernia surgery this Monday. Small tear in the abdominal muscles, out patient so he'll be up and around in a day or so. I'm sure he'd like to come along and see the hot rod, he'll be off work for awhile. If Kathy will be around I'm sure Lynda would like to come and visit with her.
Shoot me a PM or give me call and let me know what works for you. I'm sure Henry will have a follow up visit with the surgeon that week, I'll find out what it is Monday. Anyway, would like to come up and see you and check out the hot rod. Missed Autofest so I haven't seen it since you got it finished up. If I'm feeling up to it maybe I'll take it out and pull a few 5 grand hole shots. Just to see how well you put it all together. :D |
Sounds good Hank. I'll give you a call.
That Hemi likes to see around 5500 for a GOOD holeshot! |

Tony,
Here is a 72 SS with the Midnight Bronze paint code 68. Not sure if I like it...it may grow on me the more I look at it. Attachment 1658 Attachment 1659 |
I like the bronze, but I like the blue more. Tough call isn't it?
|
Tony, Gotta start saving my dimes for that Nova... oh wait someone stole all my dimes. I even a have a spare 427 for it.
|
Hey,,,Ray IS alive!!!...You'll have to get in line for the Nova. My brother wants it. He's just waiting for me to put a price on it.
That 427 you have is supposed to go in your Chevelle. |
It doesn't cost anything to dream. Family comes first.
The 427 is going to be on hold for awhile...the Ray factor hit again and had some minor set backs in the financial sector. |
Midnight bronze is a great color that you dont see very often. Our 72 Malibu was originally Midnight Bronze and I like the color but Joan vetoed that color and since its her car she got to pick the color she wanted.

There is a guy around here that has a car close to that color. It is sharp.
|
That is a nice color. Look up one that is "classic copper". I almost bought a CC car. Had white stripes.

Tony, this is what a 1972 plate looks like, it would match the Camaro if it was still the original color. I just got it today, it's never been issued.
