Movin junk around today

Well, after Ric took the Camaro home, I have enough room for the Nomad back in the heated garage. I spent the morning moving all these junkers around. Had to do a ton of opening and closing doors. Pretty cold here today too. I shoved the HD in the back garage, between the Chevelle and the south wall, put the hot-rod in the front shop against the east wall. I have the tractor in here now, weather channel says 5-8 inchs of snow tomorrow night. I hope I don't have to plow already. That is all.

RBeckman 11-28-2011 06:35 PM

Be thankful you have that kind of room, I'm working on getting 5 cars into a three car garage so my daughter can park in the garage this winter.

I rented a 5x10 storage unit park my zero rider in and I go and get the horse trailer and make the brackets so the ramps from the hoist work and I get it over there and the damn thing won't fit in the door. So I took a bunch of other stuff over there so I can can work the lawn mower in.....I will make it happen.

And neither one of you gave us pics .

FlintTony 11-29-2011 04:07 AM

That's a bummer Ric. How about a small storage shed at your place? The 12 x 24 garage/shed that we bought was delivered for 5 grand. Amish built, very sturdy, treated floor, roll up door. The guy in St. Johns still has some left. I can send you his web-site.

Flash...I don't know how to put pictures on here without using the wifes computer in the house. I can get some though. I think!

flash 11-29-2011 06:29 AM

I was joking about pics as you all know I cant post pics at all.

I take it this is the place, and I have been looking at something like this. http://jimsamishstructuresandgazebos.com/default.aspx They will only allow me a 10' x10' in our subdivision but that will work for me. A 12'x24' I could get a car in that. What kind of yard prep did you have to do?

I was going to take pics of my storage unit for you, it's very impressive...I bet there are millions like it around the country...ha

flash 11-29-2011 08:34 AM

If my 55 Bel Air ever sells Im going to build another storage building about 30x50 to park our toys in and give us some additional space in our house .My current shop building is 34x48 with a shed 14x48 which is full of crap. I dont think a building can ever be big enough.

FlintTony 11-29-2011 09:01 AM

Yep, that's the place. I used the bucket on the SS Ford to scrape the top-soil off. Then sprayed weed killer on the ground. Had 7 yards of crushed concrete brought in. Spread that with the bucket and blade. For the final grade, I used 2x10s, spliced together to get the length, and a 6' level. I had it perfect until we got monsoon rains that night. I had to re-level it before the shed got here. It is listed as a "garage " on his site. There is room for a car in it. I made a nice sloping ramp out of 2x12s for the door.

FlintTony 11-29-2011 09:03 AM

I hear you on the buildings never being big enough John. It seems like the more space I get, the more junk I get to put away. I like things organized, so it can be a real pain to get stuff where I want it.

flash 11-29-2011 11:17 AM

Im trying to get things more organized in my shop and shed .My boys are a big help in that area when they come over on wednesdays for supper and hang out in the shop. They like to help put things in some sort of order where I have had parts and tools and junk piled everywhere .

Hank70SS 11-29-2011 06:11 PM

You have more space than anyone I know Tony. We have a 2 car garage and a 12' x 20' shed. That doesn't work with 2 pickups, 2 cars, a motorhome, zero turn lawnmower, riding tractor and a bunch of junk.

BTW, the 67 Ford tractor is coming along. Haven't been able to find a wiring diagram but think we have it figured out. Trying to find belts is also a challenge. Don't think it will be ready for the snow tomorrow so if you want to swing by on your Ford 'SS' tractor that would be nice.

flash 11-29-2011 07:19 PM

Ya'll got pictures of your tractors ,I would like to see those ?

FlintTony 11-30-2011 04:47 AM

I can drive it down there now Hank. I put a set of Harley low-rider, long stem mirrors on it yesterday. It looks like a Mexican low rider bicycle with them. Looks like we got 4" of wet, heavy snow. First it rained all day, that turned to slush when the temp dropped, then the snow hit. I slid off the deck when I came out. Oh joy, Winter is here.

earthquake68 11-30-2011 08:10 AM

I just did a little yard/shop rearranging. I guess it's been a decent year. With struts, brakes, body panels etc. that I replaced, I took 1,800 pounds of scrap metal in the other day. I can move around in the shop again! I'd still like to sell one of the hotrods so I can move the Chevelle inside to work on it this winter. It's still sitting in the tent for now.

flash 11-30-2011 08:44 AM

Im in the get rid of junk and hang parts up mode ,trying to get anything on the floor hung up or gone . I also have hauled one load of scrap and will probably do one more. It sure is nice to have a little more room to move ,be better if the 55 was sold and have even more room.

Link has a pic of Tony's tractor. It's a real tractor. I'll get a pic of my son's when it's back together.

http://chevelleforum.org/showthread.php?t=102

I think it's clone, Tony has never produce any documentation.

Fortunately the sun melted all the snow off the driveway today so I don't need a tractor, today. Next week will be a different story.

shadowgray396 11-30-2011 06:17 PM

I need a bigger garage to keep with all of you. I just have a over size two car garage. Maybe some day I will have a shop. Lots of nice looking rides and toys.

Ms Grumpy 11-30-2011 07:41 PM

I am so jealous...I have a small mini garage. If my car was any longer, it wouldn't fit.

FlintTony 12-01-2011 04:35 AM

It took me about 25 years to get all these buildings put up. I came back from California in 1980. I built a 2 car, 28x30, garage behind my ma's house. I started working on HD's in that garage. In 82, I bought the house and property next door. All that time. I worked 2 full time jobs. Started building my HD business up and am a Journeyman plumber, so I kept my plumbing job. In 90, I built the main shop, 30x40 two story. In 92, we built the new house. In 94, I built the back shop garage, 28x 32. In 96 I built the 30x40 storage garage. I put an addition, 6x32 on the back shop in 2000. I put the 14x24 lazy room on the main shop in 04. The lazy room is where I have the computer, TV, easy chair, a couple of lounging chairs for guests and trinkets. The house has a 2 car attached garage on it.

Rank 12-01-2011 09:14 AM

Thats all well and good but when are you gonna be in a position to buy a camera and post pics so we can drool over the hotrods and other toys?? LOL

Here in Michigan, we have a 10 cent deposit return on pop and beer cans. I'm collecting them to get enough money for a camera. I'm thinkin about driving the tractor to Illinois and getting some of theres. They don't have the deposit law there. I can get 20 or 30 dollars worth in the bucket! Oh wait, did that work for Kramer?

In the mean-time, Hank does have a camera. He took a couple of pictures when he was here. Somewhere on this site, there is a video of my 34 Ford.

Yep, that was a good show. It seems like all the good shows are gone now. I catch old Bonanza and Gunsmoke episodes on cable every so often.

Derek69SS 12-05-2011 11:53 AM

More Ford tractor guys! Cool! I have a '46 Ford 2N with a loader.

Took a extra day off and moved the cars around to make room for my daughter so she does not have to scrape windows this winter. So I now have 5 cars in a three car garage. I just hope I don't need to get to anything else. Here are the pics Flash.

Camaro tucked away in a corner.
Tony, that is a nice cover you gave me with the car
