Got to spend my Birthday at the doctors office wth my blood pressure high yesterday. Had been just find up til now. Going in for some more test today. Looks like a long weekend of rest.

Ray ,take care of yourself as High Blood Pressure is a silent killer .They can get you under control very quickly now days but at least you know its there .I was diagnosed as borderline High several years ago and have been finew since with medication .My Dr actually had me go to a fire dept every other day for two weeks to have my pressure checked at different times of the day to give him an idea of what meds I needed. All the fire houses were happy to do so and all is well. Best wishes and keep us posted .

As John said, take care of yourself and do what it takes to keep it under control. Be well.

Ray,

Be sure you follow the doctors orders, this is the same thing that started with my issues. The Meds keep my bp in check now. Now I have to lose 25 lbs and I will be following dr orders to the tee. Good luck

Take it easy Ray, and make sure you listen to your doc's advice.

Just got back from the doctor tonight from another check and pressure has drop into a safe zone for now. At least that is good news. Will be checking it all weekend to see if it stays steady. They are not sure what made it spike. Weight is not a problem since I lost 60 lbs last year.

60 lbs in a year is a lot. What caused the wieght loss? I need to drop 20 or so myself.

I went on a special diet that only allow me 1500 calories a day and change my eating habits working with a dietitian who help set up what I could eat. Was hard to do, but it was nice to finally get it off.

You got some new additions to your family that seem to keep you motivated flash. By the way, how was the holiday for the boys ?

flash 12-31-2011 10:26 PM

The holidays with the boys was great with one exception .One of the boys has pulled away from us and has'nt been here the last two weeks. He is going thru some hard times and we dont know how to help him.I think he is afraid of getting too close to us and getting hurt again but I dont really know. I'm going to continue calling him and inviting him over with the others and just hope and pray he can work thru his problems. We miss him a lot but dont want to push him farther away from us.

Ms Grumpy 01-01-2012 07:13 PM

Suggestion flash. Send him a card/letter and tell him that you are concerned about him and that you are there for him. Include an addressed envelope and a piece of paper so that he may write back to you. Sometimes it is easier for kids to write things down, and not do things face to face. Good Luck.

Thanks for the suggestion Ms Grumpy as I had not thought of that .I really want him to come back to us as we miss him terribly and he was doing so much better.
