Does anyone else hate grease

Dang I can't stand that movie. Every single time its on my wife just has to watch it.

I think she does just to aggravate me

grandsport 01-04-2010 06:15 PM

I don't like it under my finger nails. I don't like geese,either.

Edit: This is the sort of post of mine that irritates people.

Johnny O 01-04-2010 06:18 PM

I actually never saw it, not the whole thing anyway. But then again, I'm not a big fan of musicals of any sort.

Andy69 01-04-2010 06:24 PM

hate it. Repo Man, now there's a movie

grumpy 01-04-2010 06:29 PM

Give me movies like John Wayne's the Quiet man or The Shootist, Hell damn near anything that does not have john revolta in it...

Andy69 01-04-2010 06:51 PM

you have to admit Pulp Fiction was pretty good

Hank70SS 01-04-2010 06:58 PM

I think he had a few good movies, not his early ones. Grease, oh ya! dripping from a burger on the grill, yum, yum. Oh wait this should be in the triple by-pass post.

66SSFan 01-04-2010 07:03 PM

That movie sucks!!!

Derek69SS 01-04-2010 07:16 PM

I haven't seen "Grease" since I was a kid... I know I liked it when I was 5, but my tastes have changed a little since then.

Yes, it is a movie. If it wasn't, it couldn't be the worst movie of all time, could it? ;)

Chris R 01-04-2010 07:31 PM

Women sure love it. I would gladly take that black chopped Merc the rival greasers drive over the 46 Ford convert that Travolta drives. Greased lighting or whatever.

64Malibu 01-04-2010 11:36 PM

About as much as my wife hates Caddy Shack and Blazing Saddles...

johnnys1977 01-05-2010 03:39 PM

We saw it at the theater when it first came out! We were in Marshfield Wi. for a 1 year followup at Marshfield Clinc from her first heart surgury. The only movie showing and it was that or sit in the Motel room watching crappy TV reception!
Now she owns it and when she watches it she naturally say I have to watch "our" movie with her!
The things we men will go through in the name of love!:)

rak1 01-05-2010 03:51 PM

Parts of it are watchable, but overall I hate it. Now when I was younger I did have a crush on ONJ: I'll admit it... I joined her fanclub during the "Physical" days. Sad... I know.

I know I was kind of amazed too; I was into redhead at the time but I ended up marrying a brunette. I was also in Karen Carpenter fan club and ended up meeting her at Harrah's automotive museum in 1979. She was nice enough to send me an album with her and Richards autograph's on it. I still have it too. And they say joining a fan club doesn’t pay….

bad.samaritan 01-06-2010 12:54 AM

I have always loathed that movie, and of course just about every woman I have ever dated loved it and thought I would too since I like "cars". Second to Grease would the Rocky horror picture show, maybe I just hate musicals

We have a winner....... My wife loves musicals and I hate them all; I even hate Cristmas ones, but she made me watch them all this year.

rak1 01-06-2010 12:38 PM

Thank god "A Christmas Story" save me or I would have been a raving lunatic by the New Year.

Chris R 01-06-2010 11:20 PM

Exactly. Its the musicals part of it. I grew up in the 80s, so the musicals popular back then were all about the Grease movies and Annie.

For the life of me, I cant see how its possible someone could sit through 4 HOURS of that Annie movie. I have never seen a single part of it, but the guide on our Dish shows its 4 hours long. That is insane. Or wait, was that that old Sound of music movie? I cant remember which now.

I would rather mainline Drain-O that sit through xmas musicals.

Should have capitalized Grease. I thought it was a post about hating to grease the chassis. (OK, so I'm an idiot "insert laughy face here" and don't feel you need to agree with me ).

One of my all time favorite movies to hate. Acting stinks, hate musicals, etc.

The only saving grace to being subjected to another airing of that slop is the fact that Olivia Newton John is very "easy on the eyes" all dressed up in that spandex pants outfit. :D

Of course :worthless:

so

69badboy 01-07-2010 08:39 AM

I guess going to see the play is out of the question. :)

It does seem to be one of the movies they keep repeating on cable. My wife loves it too.

Speakin of movies I caught the old movie of The War of the Worlds the other day. That movie freaked me out when I was a kid. Probably been 40 years since I seen it. Starred Gene Barry who died last month.

grumpy 01-07-2010 08:49 AM

I guess not every revolta movies a stinker. I did like pulp fiction and even that broken arrow flick a little.

Highway Star 01-07-2010 09:39 AM

Grease is for chicks...the "car guy" stuff in it is a joke really. None of it makes sense if you listen to the words. I will find something else to do if that movie is on...but I do like the part where the dude tries playing sports...b-ball, baseball, etc. That was kind of funny...especially when he spiked himself trying to run the hurdles.:D

The only rock-opera I can stand is Little Shop of Horrors.

69badboy 01-07-2010 09:52 AM

Swordfish was ok.

Come on now. You had to like Clint in Paint Your Wagon!!! How could you not???

Chris R 01-07-2010 12:49 PM

Face Off with Travolta and Nicolas Cage was pretty good.

I want to see that Pelham123 movie he did with Denzel Washington. It looks prett cool. I just seen a preview the other day where he has some new movie coming out where he is totally bald. It took me a second to realize it was him.
