How many miles did you put on your Chevelle this year?

I only manged toget 22 miles on my since July. Still working on a few small bugs.

Rharp 10-12-2012 09:38 AM

Maybe 100.
Work to much to enjoy it.

Ms Grumpy 10-12-2012 05:15 PM

We estimated about 500. If the trans had not given me problems it probably would have been at least double that. I can't wait for flash to give his total. I bet he beats all of us by a whole lot.

69chevelless 10-12-2012 05:50 PM

Somewhere around 900, going to a cruise on sunday which might be the last. Drove it 4,000 a year before I restored it.

Monte666 10-12-2012 07:48 PM

About a thousand just changed oil and filter was full of metal shavings looks like new engine time

Sent from my LG-P999

RBeckman 10-12-2012 08:00 PM

Under 50, but I did put 1,009 on the Camaro. Next year the Chevelle will be driven more.

flash 10-12-2012 09:11 PM

SS Shaun 10-12-2012 09:30 PM

earthquake68 10-13-2012 08:21 AM

I put about 300 FEET on my car pushing it around the driveway and into the garage finally. Next year will be different. I'm gonna drive the heck out of it.

flash 10-13-2012 02:48 PM

Its normally a lot more but were not done yet ,we leave friday for Nashville to meet friends and cruise up to Kentucky and its undecided where we will go from there .We are going to try to get by the American Pickers store in Nashville on our way back from Kentucky and possibly go to the Smoky Mountains from there .

BillsCamino 10-13-2012 02:58 PM

I put 380 miles on the '66 Sedan the first day I bought it.
Met the Seller at the Newburgh, NY airport...jumped in and drove it to Buffalo, NY.

Then from there trailered it over to Cleveland, OH for the NOCC show and on home in GA.
Those miles were with the car on a Uhaul dolly with the driveshaft in place so the miles did continue to record.
Does that count?? :D

flash 10-13-2012 03:21 PM

I think they count ,at least 2 wheels were on the ground .

grandsport 10-13-2012 04:53 PM

After today's exercise,the grand total is 37.

carpoor 10-15-2012 01:52 PM

Haven't put even one tenth of a mile on it in the 6+ years it has been in the family. :( I keep telling myself, "Maybe next year..."

I look at it this way, it's still in the family. That is the most important thing, there is still the possibility of miles. If you sold it, then it would only be a memory.

I will be burried in the car, my father gave it to me - he felt his end was near. Miraculously, he got a heart transplant three weeks later. Without that miracle, he would have been dead within 5-6 weeks of giving me the car. There is a very strong emotional attachment to that car. No matter how bad off I am, I will never sell it.

JanS 11-10-2012 02:29 PM

miles this year

I put close to 1,000 since June going to the car shows in my 454 SS and about 5 tanks of gas! She's all covered up in the garage now until next spring. Thought about taking her out today as it's 64 degrees here right now and going up to 68 tomorrow. I love global warming!

RBeckman 11-10-2012 04:32 PM

I just went and put 120 miles on mine today driving to Bay City and then on the way home put some Sta-bil in it. Now it is all clean and on the lift and covered for the winter.

If I could find an old red colored Rambler, even in crappy condition, I would buy it to have as a reminder of what my dad taught me about cars. My dad is the reason that I love cars. So I totally understand.

69chevelless 11-11-2012 07:00 AM

Since the last time I posted on this page I probably drove it about more 200 miles if not more.

earthquake68 11-12-2012 08:57 AM

You guys are making me jealous. I only put about 300 feet on my car this year. ....and that was just me pushing it around the driveway. :(

Just wait! Next year, I'm gonna be driving the wheels off this thing! :D

sg5492 11-12-2012 11:34 AM

One-way? Congrats on the sale!

Ms Grumpy 11-19-2012 05:38 PM

Those of us here in the North are jealous of our Southern members who still have the nicer weather and can drive their cars year round.

shadowgray396 11-26-2012 05:32 PM

Took the Chevelle for a run today, now has 29 miles on it for the year.

69chevelless 11-26-2012 06:24 PM

I never got to go for my birthday ride on Sunday and possible snow this week so next weekend I'm rolling it out to wash it and wax it then cover it and be done with it. I would estimate almost 1,200 miles this year.

shadowgray396 10-09-2013 12:44 AM

I only managed to get the spedo to 200 miles this year. Still fighting an oil leaks. Thinking I might have to pull the engine this winter to fix the rear main seal. Had to fix the pinion seal also this summer.

SS Shaun 10-09-2013 08:00 AM

I put in 10 miles so far :) i hope to put in about 30 on friday while still working on the bugs

RBeckman 10-09-2013 10:11 AM

about 300 miles and about 500 on the Camaro.

flash 10-09-2013 11:06 AM

And which one are you talking about flash ?

Ms Grumpy 10-09-2013 06:36 PM

For me, I think I am looking at just over 600 miles this year. Not for lack of trying, but the spring was so wet, and then the heat was so bad. Just had a lot going on this summer and I just never had enough time to get her out as much as I wanted. Just like today, I wanted to go out to a cruise tonight...then I got a call from my daughter, her sitter was in the hospital, could I pick my grand daughter up from school and watch her tonight. Another cruise passed me by.

flash 10-09-2013 07:29 PM

We just were not as into things this year ,too much life going on .
