Want your chevelle to be the car of the month ?

If you would like your Chevelle to be car of the month then post a picture to this thread, no less then 300x200 pixels, in size, and include 25 words ( or less ) about it.

I will choose the first car, then all following months will be voted on by the members. Thanks

Money? No money Gary, I'm willing to do a straight up trade. Oh sure I could hold out for a better deal but I like you and I know how much you like Pacificas.

1972 Malibu that I inherited from my father. It was a $2500 rustbucket about 15 years ago. It is even more pretty in person. :D

Granny's Malibu
The "before" pic...I'm the second & fourth owner of this Malibu. I bought this original 44K mile car from a 83 year old woman that only drove it to the beer store on Friday nights. :D
I made the mistake of selling this Sedan a few years ago but bought it back last year. As a reward for it's return to GA (it's birthplace), I've since totally updated the drive train.
Most recent pic is in my sig...

I bought the car in 1997, from an ad in the Columbus Dispatch. I had looked at the car in the fall of 1996, but it was the first one I looked at, and decided to keep looking. I looked at a bunch of other cars, but kept thinking about this one. My girlfriend kept telling me to call, saying he probably still had it. Finally I called, 6 months after I first looked at it, and drove it home at the end of February, 1997, with the top down.

I took it off hte road in 2006 when I realized it was unsafe to drive due to rust. I've been working on it ever since and to date have replaced about 60% of the original sheet metal. I hope to have it back up in a couple of years. I need to because my wife is tapping her foot and looking at the Healey sitting in the driveway :)

Andy69 01-12-2010 07:54 AM

ok ok due to popular demand:

http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/da...m/000_0820.jpg

I bought it a year and a half ago on Ebay. Mostly original numbers matching 1969 GS400, except for paint, I have the original window sticker, POP, lots of receipts. Runs great but needs just a bit of work.

Not a Chevelle, but I wanted to share anyway :)

grumpy 01-17-2010 08:28 AM

Still time to get entered in to the car of the month.

I built this Chevelle in 1997 and foolishly sold it in 2003. It came back to me about four months ago after sitting in an enclosed trailer for 5 years with only about 300 additional miles on it. This is a current picture. I am working to get the car back to where it was pre-sale. I WONT be letting it go again!

Just finished the engine bay (02/22/10)

Ok....all #'s matching ,benchseat, 3 speed 66SS, ordered in Nov 65 by a 46 yr old woman in SW Missouri , the car spent it's first 39 yrs within an hrs drive of where it was built and was used primarily to commute 40 miles a day to work.
I'm the 3rd registered owner of the car and and have been corresponding with the original owner since I found her through all the paperwork that came with the car, she's now 89 yrs old.

Seeb 02-26-2010 06:46 PM

No history here, just the one I can drive, dump the clutch and have some fun with..... The 69 !!

thanks...it wasn't too hard, I bought the car about 1 yr removed from being a survivor, mostly just some corrections under the hood and putting some of the original parts I got with the car back on.
