Wanted 1970 Chevelle

Hello,

I just registered here in an effort to locate a 1970 Chevelle. I have been hunting for a while and usually find either overpriced trumped up garbage or over priced basket cases. I am not after pure originality or massive HP. I'd like a well sorted good driving 70. I do not care if it is really an SS or just had emblems slapped on. I'd be perfectly happy with a 350, Th400, 10 bolt rear 10 footer with a good interior. Manual would be nice.

Basically, I'm sick of seeing the 454 chrome monster someone bolted together that they want to sell for 55k.

Thanks
Mike

Welcome and are you interested in a nice 70 Malibu convertible that is ready to drive .

Is it true that all 70 Chevelle SS's were only build Red with Black Stripes?

Welcome to the site. Hope you find what you are looking for. I would get ahold of flash, he has knowledge of some nice cars.

Im trying to point him to one .

Welcome, even a nice driver still going to cost a few bucks. What kind of budget are you working with?

mroe21877 01-11-2013 09:52 PM

Budget depends on the car. I don't mind doing some work but I'm not going to pay a fortune for someone's dream 454 they don't want anymore. I grew up in s 70 malibu - pale blue with white interior. I'd be happy with something like that - just no convertible.
I was possibly going to look at a 70 fake ss tomorrow - Not sure if it will pan out.

Thanks

Welcome and good luck on what you are looking for. Thanks to barrett jackson and the other auction companies on making it hard for people to buy a classic cars at decent prices

Ms Grumpy 01-13-2013 05:07 AM

So what happened with the fake SS ?

mroe21877 01-13-2013 05:44 AM

Never went. Something about the communication from the seller u didn't like. Information was not forthcoming and I found an older ad that had more information on issues so I just let it go.

Where are you located ,might help us point you to one . If you are close to Nashville Chuck always has something .

mroe21877 01-13-2013 08:57 AM

Md. I wouldn't mind shipping one though

shadowgray396 01-13-2013 09:06 AM

Don't buy it sight unseen. Did that with one years ago, pictures do not tell you the whole story. Purchased it and had it shipped and man was I dissappointed. Also right now all the auctions are going on so everyone has inflated prices on there cars.

Have you contacted any of the Maryland Chevelle Club members ,they may know of something close by to you .

Great minds think alike ! Gary's car is one that I would buy if I had the cash.
