Picked up a new toy.

I got a new M4 a few days ago. I got to sight it in at the range today. This is a MUCH nicer weapon than my old Olympic Arms AR. Just to avoid any arguments, this is a home defense weapon and "AR" stands for "Armalite Rifle", the first company to offer a carbine rifle of this type.

Anyway, ....here's my shot group after I was done sighting it in. This is 25 yards unsupported. The stray round to the right was actually the guy on my left that shot my target by accident. (the difference between gun control and the lack there-of)

Agreed, I go out of my way to make sure no one calls them an "assault weapon." I have an Armalite AR-10 carbine chambered in .308 - love it! I am currently looking at a carbine in .45 ACP, all of my hand guns are that caliber. I still have a Savage Arms Model 10 in .308 that I haven't shot yet. Can't wait for hunting season, hoping to bag a few feral hogs and a few deer.

What kind of optics, if any, do you have on the M4?

Just iron sights on the M4.

I have a UR308. It's basically an AR10 with some work done. It has a 20" stainless barrel with a 1/4" wall, some trigger work and a couple other details. It's my baby. I can reach out and touch someone at 1,000 meters with it. As soon as I get rich and famous, I want to get a Barrett M82 A1. :D

Ya'll are talking way over my head as I dont know squat about guns .

Flash, Barret = D shizznit! .50 caliber BMG.

Good shooting with iron sights. I put an Eotech red dot on my AR-10, haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I have a cheap (under $300) Mueller on my Savage, not sure how well it is going to hold up. Wanted a Leopold, at the time... couldn't spread my money around enough to afford one.

I am with flash on this one. But, grumpy is into the Air Rifles, he has one that will take out a deer. No powder here, just a lot of hot air. :)

Bring 'em on Alan. I think we have heard them all. lol

earthquake68 05-02-2013 07:31 AM

Heh, heh, heh. :D

A rifle powered by hot air?? He'll never run out of propellant!

Did the counter person match the rifle to the owner's personality?

If you got your own air soft gun, whenever he misbehaved, you could just shoot him in the butt, kinda like spraying a cat with water to train them.

........

..........that's all I can come up with right now. :D
