Some nice rear ends
I know you were hoping for something different. But I came across this picture and wanted to share.

I like the last one best but I may be a little prejudiced .
I've never owned a '64 or '65.
I guess that's something that could be on my bucket list. :) |
So here is my dumb question of the day. Are all the rear bumpers the same on all makes and models of Chevelles ? Or does the pic have SS and Malibu bumpers and tail lights ?
Pretty sure the bumper is the same, except 70 had the black rubber pad. The taillights on the 70 SS and Malibu had silver on the ribs inside the taillight, the plain Chevelle, not SS, did not have silver there. Not sure but there may be small differences on other years too.
71'-72' is for sure the same, just drill two holes for the SS emblem. The other years are the same as well, except for the differences Hank noted. Look closely, there IS a slight difference between 71' & 72' tail lights. ;)

Don't forget about the 300 deluxe rears.
Thanks guys. So maybe it wasn't such a blond moment. lol
Thast would make a great poster for the garage
I do agree. I think it would make an awesome business card too.
So, going by the rear end pictures. The SS at the end of the movie "Shooter" was a 71 or 72. Sigh, they never actually showed the front.
Man, owns a nice SS and is able to carry off 2000+ yard shots, now that is a man to admire, too bad he was fictional. |
