Hey Beckman!!!!

Ric, are you OK? Haven't seen you on the board lately. Check in, bro.

Ms Grumpy 05-20-2013 06:39 PM

I also hope everything is OK.

Hank70SS 05-20-2013 07:33 PM

He tends to fade away over the winter months then show up when car season is back on. Sure he's okay, well I hope so.

FlintTony 05-21-2013 04:29 AM

I'll try to give him a call today. I've been pretty busy myself lately. Had a fight with the HOA in Florida. Lawyers involved, ended up selling the three acres and buying 18.2 acres, 500 feet away that isn't part of the HOA. We now have a 1/4 mile frontage on the river, protected Cyprus forest, gigantic oak trees, and total privacy. I'm thinking about taking them to court to recoup some of the money the idiots cost me. Been building things around here, doing some work in the shop. Went to four different car things last weekend. Kathy is looking at getting a new 2013 Camaro convertible. She should have it today, maybe tomorrow.

If anyone wants to see the new property, take a look at this link.

Hank70SS 05-21-2013 06:44 AM

18.2 acres, should have plenty of room to park our motorhome, we'll need a cement pad, water, sewer and at least 30 amp electric hookup. Let me know when it's ready.

Seriously, sounds like you ended up with an even nicer piece of property. Lot of frustration but maybe it worked out for the best. Pics look nice, what's the implications for you on the flood plane map?

Okay know we definitely need to come up and get a ride in Kathy's new car.

FlintTony 05-21-2013 07:31 AM

The flood plane encompasses about 10 acres. There is ground that is 41 feet above sea-level, on the North-West part of the property. That is where we will build. We have to be at 36 feet above sea level to avoid flood insurance. The property to the North is almost all protected, so no one will build there. There are two lots across the private road from us, but I don't anticipate anyone will build there either.

Kathy is still looking at different cars. She thought she found the "right one" yesterday, but has been on-line looking and found one she likes better. And I HATE the salesmen at the dealerships. She was going to trade her G6 vert in, like new, 11,000 miles, spotless, well maintained, and trade in the 2000 Ram-Air Trans-Am, wS6, black, 6 speed, 10,000 miles. After all the shit with the "appraiser" at the dealership, I called up the wholesaler. He is giving her 2500 more, sight unseen. (He knows how we take care of our stuff).

FlintTony 05-21-2013 05:39 PM

I talked to Ric today. He has been real busy, but is doing good. He had the carb rebuilt on the no-clock-working Camaro. Said it runs a ton better now.

If he fixes the clock he won't have anything to complain about.

flash 05-22-2013 08:40 AM

I think he has just abandoned us ,he may need a group kick in the pants .

RBeckman 05-22-2013 12:15 PM

Geez thanks for caring all. I thought the only ones that would me is the wife and kids when the money stopped coming in.

I have been working, and for those of my friends that are retired that forgot what work is. I have definition below to help you guys remember. Please let me know if you need further explanation.

Work [wurk] ; Noun, adjective, verb

1. Exertion or effort directed to produce of accomplish something; labor;toil.
2. Something on which exertion or labor is expended; a task of understanding
3. Productive or operative activity
4. Employment, as in some form of industry, especially as means of earning one's livelihood
5. One's place of employment

I'm adding to the all of programs the government mandates to make all of your lives better, so when you are driving down the road please remember me working to paying taxes to make those roads possible or when your political vote to up the taxes on the working class..think of me. :D

Seriously, we are in the middle of rolling out of our linkage and suspension line to the aftermarket along with our friction offering and it has been more work than we all anticipated, our first roll out have been the LA area and NY NY and they are very demanding customers.

As for the clock in the Camaro...if it was only the clock I could live with it, but I've had to change a tail light bulb and the AM radio light bulb so you can only image the living nightmare I have to live with. I had the Chevelle last night and it ran great. This weekend I'm hoping to get them both cleaned up.

Also, I'm on here a lot more than Ray Barnes...hows he doing?

Hank70SS 05-22-2013 02:22 PM

Hey Ric, glad you're doing okay, good to hear from you. I saw Ray on Sunday at Bakers, first time since last fall. He's been busy too, working to support us retired guys. He's working in Troy so he's got a long commute. Still seeing Trish, the lady he met last year, sounds serious.

Bowtie-Bri 05-23-2013 12:05 AM

I'm sure the clock isn't completely broke.....after all it's right on time not once, but twice a day! :D

Finally, a man with the RIGHT outlook on things!!!!

Ric, I am surprised it took you so long to realize those bulbs were not working. They didn't work in the Chevelle either, but the ones I took out of the Camaro and put in the Chevelle did.

Ms Grumpy 05-23-2013 08:21 PM

You guys are hilarious !

Hank70SS 05-27-2013 08:21 AM

He's alive and well, I saw the AWOL Ric Beckman at Baker's yesterday. Nice day there, not too hot, good turnout. Good to see you again Ric, been awhile.

Bowtie-Bri 05-27-2013 11:35 AM

Hi Hank,
Weather permitting, I might be going to Bakers next Saturday June 1st for the F-body M&G. I'm trying to sell my 02 Camaro SS and thought that would be a good place to go. I've heard everyone is welcome to the show. You don't have to own a Camaro or Firebird to participate. It would great to see you guys again
.

Baker's has special events through the summer but is always open to all cruisers as far as I know. They usually set up a special area for things like that then the rest is open. Maybe you see you there Brian.

I know you guys think this is no big thing but let me set up a scenario for you.
I'm driving on I-75 with my hair blowing in the wind and all of sudden it starts getting dark because I did not know what time it was because the "clock" does not work, so I start heading home and trying to get to a radio station so I can hear the weather and guess what....the light on the radio does not work so I can't find a station.....and then guess what, I get pulled over because the tail light is burned out and I'm so pissed off because of all of these things are wrong and I get arrested for disorderly conduct. All of this because the clock did not work. Now you know the rest of the story.

Good seeing you guys too Hank, I will be at Bakers on Saturday at the Camaro meet and greet and hopefully get to see Brian there.

I have to get back to work to pay those taxes so all of you retired guys can enjoy the fruits of my labor.

:banana::banana::banana:

Are you talking about the hair on your arm, because I have seen you without a hat on?

FlintTony 05-28-2013 05:47 PM

Man Ric, I feel real bad now about selling you such a POS. The right thing for me to do would be to give you the pocket watch to hang from the mirror, give you this old transistor radio that I've had for 50 years, and the extra mag-lite flashlight that can be duct-taped to the rear quarter panel. That SHOULD finally make you happy.

Oh yeah...about that "hair blowing in the wind".....wake up Ric, you are having a dream!!!!

We took the 34 Hot Rod to a small show, hundred cars or so, this weekend and they gave us Peoples Choice, Best of Show award. Kathy likes that stuff, me, not so much. Makes her happy though.

So you've seen Ric without a hat too... scalp blowing in the breeze would be a better description. :D

If it it makes Kathy happy that's good, gotta keep the women happy. Congratulations, that's a sweet ride.

I hope the tornado missed your place Ric. News has some pictures of things out your way. Some look pretty bad.

Where at did they hit by me? the only thing I heard was that it touched down in Goodrich and Mt Morris which is closer to you. We were under warnings for a couple hours. My Daughter was at a concert at Meadow Brook and they shut down for while till the warnings were lifted.

FlintTony 05-29-2013 11:40 AM

Looks like the tornado missed you Ric. It hit about three miles from me. We didn't lose power, but across Genesee Road they did. We had a hell of a rain, some decent winds, and that stinking Blue Heron killed another one of the big fish in the pond. He kills out of meaness, cause the fish he kills are way too big for him to eat. If I have my way, I'll be eating him.

FlintTony 05-29-2013 05:38 PM

Ric, I was thinking that you were if Fenton Township. That's where she landed. Saw a guy on the news that got wiped out in the tornado a fews years back. He got hit again in his new place that he just got finished.

grandsport 05-29-2013 06:24 PM

How are you doing Mr.Beckman ?

I watched the news last night and the one that hit in Fenton Twp is only 5 miles from me and it was reported 115mph winds, I was sitting on the front porch when it hit and the winds at our place were not that bad...goes to show you how wierd these things are.

As for the guy that got hit, he was only a mile from us in 2007 when it hit Fenton and it did 40K damage to my house but it did a lot of damage to others, it even wiped out the tractor supply store that they had just build and opened a week earlier. Fenton seems to be a magnet for these things.

Every day I get up is good and I'm thankful for that. Thanks for asking.

Ms Grumpy 05-30-2013 07:19 PM

I am so glad to hear that the Tornado's didn't get you guys up near Flint. It sure seems that you guys have been hit hard this year with some crazy weather. I am only, what, about 50 miles south of you and we have only had some wind problems.

Sounds like Baker's should be a popular place this Saturday. If I get a chance to clean up my car I would love to head out that way. What time does the show start ?

flash 05-30-2013 07:22 PM

Im glad all you guys are all right up there .

It was good seeing you Brian at the Meet and Greet at the Michigan Fbody show at Bakers on Saturday, I tried to get Hank to come up there since he is only 5 miles away but you know how busy things get when you are retired...ha

Tony, the Camaro took 3rd place in the 2nd generation Fbody class division...I feel that it did not get first place because of the clock not working.

FlintTony 06-03-2013 05:49 PM

OH GOD NO,NO,NO,NO.....NOT THE CLOCK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! That damn clock is going to haunt me for the rest of my life!!!!! The nightmares are getting worse, I can't sleep, and now THIS!!!!! All over a stinkin clock that I broke on purpose, just so you would be late for everything!!

Congrats anyway Ric. 3rd place with all the cars that were there is great!

Sorry, I thought the meet was on Sunday. Already had other plans on Saturday and I was a lot farther than 5 minutes away. Congrats on 3rd place, that's pretty damn good.

Tony, please buy him an f'in clock, I'm tired of hearing about it. Maybe we can start up a collection here to buy Ric a clock. Never mind, probably a waste of time, I'm sure he'll find something else to bitch about, like the burnout light bulbs. I bet the brake pads are worn down, probably needs new spark plugs, there was dust on the dashboard.

You know Ric, been driving his Chevelle for years with no trim rings on his SS wheels but that damn clock is just killing him. :p

Ms Grumpy 06-03-2013 08:54 PM

It is always the little things, like the clock, that make all the difference when it comes to car shows.

Congrats Tony. Sorry I missed the show, had to be here for my daughter.

Bowtie-Bri 06-03-2013 11:59 PM

It was great to see you again too Ric! Now I know why you were late for the show! If it makes you feel any better, the clock in my old Chevelle didn't work either, but I told the guy that bought it.........AS IS no warranty. :D

Damn Tony I don't want to be the cause of any health issues know what health nut you are. During your next yoga session just let all the bad vibes about the Camaro just exit your mind.

It's not the clock itself, it's tearing the dash apart that has never been molested to take the clock out to get rebuilt....my luck I'll break something doing it.

No trim rings is a choice as I like the way they look with out them plus it bugs you which is a bonus....plus mine have a couple dents.

Thanks for understanding on me being late that clock runs my life. I just figured the car was only 2,000 over warranty miles that "Tony's fine car uporium" would cover it, I guess the sign over desk that states "If you don't like it you can kiss my ASS" should have been a clue on how warranty is covered. See you at the Camaro Superfest in July.

Tony, is there a cruise in Davidson today that you are going to? Leslie is in Canada on business and was thinking of driving out there tonight if you are going to be around.

Ray Barnes 06-04-2013 10:22 AM

Ric, What happened to the Chevelle? You go and buy a Camaro with a broken clock and now the Chevelle isn't good enough.

FlintTony 06-04-2013 10:44 AM

There is a small cruise at Johns Pizzaria tonight. I don't go there. They burned my stromboli. Made me mad. The downtown cruise is at VG's store for the rest of the year. It's at the corner of Davison Rd and Gale Rd. Fridays.
