Rainbow Bridge..I hope it's true

There is a poem about losing a dog called The Rainbow Bridge. If you know the poem, you will understand. I soooo hope it's true. We lost our German Shepard, Josie, Monday. She died in our arms. I am so very sad.

I feel your pain we lost 2 of our Cocker Spaniels within 3 months of each other earlier this year. Gone but not forgotten, your dog will always be in your heart. One of our remaining cockers name is Josie.

Sorry to hear that Tony. I know it has to hurt, she was a good dog. Wasn't she Kathy's dog? Is Axle trying figure out where she is, they were always together? Don't know what we'll do when Annie goes, she'll be 14 in August.

So sorry to hear that. Losing a friend is always tough.

Sorry to hear that Tony as you told me she was doing better when I was there last Friday...I could her wanting to come out in the garage with us and axle but you were trying to keep her calm and put stress on her.

I know it's going to be a sad time when our English Bulldog leaves us as she is over 10 and they don't have a long life. I'm going to do a search for that poem and will think of Josie.

Thanks everyone. Hank, yes she was Kathys girl. We got her when Kathy was still working. Josie spent her first 4 years out here in the shop with me, about 12 hours a day. She was a ball of fire from day one. Axel keeps looking for her. He doesn't seem to understand where his best dog pal is. He keeps going to the back of the house, whining.

Dogs become part of the family, and is very tough to loose them.

Hank70SS 07-11-2013 05:03 PM

That's a tough one Tony. You know going in you're probably go to lose them some day, they just don't live as long as people do. Doesn't make it any easier when they do go. You can't find a better companion than a dog. They don't care what you look like, don't care how smart you are, just want to spend time with you.

Sory for your loss my friend...had a German Shepard too, he was called Ringo.
Died at age of 13, in my arms, I cried for a week.

Sorry about Ringo. I know the feeling all too well. I've had German Shepards since I was a kid. This one really tore my heart out. A while back, I had 7 of them die within a 2 year period from old age. Worst time of my life.

Tony, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. There is never a truer, more loving friend than a dog. They pick you up when your down, they listen to your every word and they always seem to put a smile on your face.

For you Tony.....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That poem makes my eyes leak.

Hank70SS 07-13-2013 06:49 AM

I knew you were an old 'softy' Tony. I know my eyes will leak when we lose Annie.

Ms Grumpy 07-13-2013 09:17 PM

A real man knows when to cry.
