That's a sharp looking '65. My wife's cousin has a sweet '65 that has won some hardware. I like 'em, they look like an Impala's tough little brother.

Mike,
I am hoping to be there to with my '65 so maybe you can help me out with stuff I dunno about the '65 model year. I do know however that I love the car
and the '65 is just enough of a difference from a '67 to make it interesting! :)

I'll try to bring my brain, tho. Mine is kinda far away from stock... I forgot to mention that if you can go fast, you need to stop fast. ... power disc all 4 corners.

Mike - That would be great as mine is far from stock also and funny you should mention brakes... That is one of the problems I am having and I need to figure out! The guy that built the car and engine adapted a electric/pneumatic brake booster in the trunk and the noise drives me crazy as it sounds like a mini air compressor going off every time I step on the brakes. He opted not to use a vaccum to the master cylinder and booster off of the engine as he said the CAM used to much of it but.... I'm thinking if I increase the brake booster to an 8 inch and with the 2500 stall converter, I should be able to run it off the engine vaccum, right?

classic 01-19-2010 04:17 PM

Thanks Mike but I think yours is the cats meow as well! :) I've had brake boost problems before on my auto big block cars and was always able to work it out with stall converter size using engine vaccum. My car has a very small brake booster on it right now and I am sure that is part if not all of the problem.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to check each others cars out this summer!

UR right Mike, you do not have much clearance!!!! You definetly have a bigger brake booster than mine!

Do you really want to know?

I threw in some additional pictures - twin fans & cog belt driving the alternator & waterpump.

Very nice looking car. I used to have a 66 and I've been partial to 66-67 but the 64-65 body style is my absolute favorite.

badrad 03-05-2010 10:23 PM

I love '65 Chevelles.
