Hickup in my Gidyup

Anyone gone thru the blocked arterie stint balloon thing.
Had an ultra sound on my legs and neck
The vessel feed to both legs..70 percent blocked.
The neck im not sure yet.
And thursday im doing the cat scan with dye injection.
BTW im scared shitless.

BillsCamino 08-01-2015 01:54 PM

Honestly...DON'T WORRY!!! It's a piece of cake.
I've got 4 stints...all in my chest...the 1st two installed over 10 yrs ago. Awake during the whole procedure...totally painless!! Watching it all on the overhead monitor.

And I get the nuclear stress test every two years.

You will be fine with these procedures ,my sister in law has been thru it several times .Just do what the Docs tell you afterward and you should be fine .Let us know when you go in for these procedures and after ,we will help encourage you .

RBeckman 08-02-2015 08:39 AM

Been there and done that and like Bill says "it a piece of cake" and Don't worry!! I was back to work a couple days later.

mestorod70 08-02-2015 03:29 PM

Thank you all so much for the kind words
Im the guy that passes out when they take blood....lol.
But when i cut myself its lick swallow and masking tape.
Again thanks guys.

Just be sure to take better care of yourself afterwards. My father had his first heart attack at 41. Bad genetics and his refusal to come to grips with his situation led to more procedures, eventually a transplant nearly eight years ago. I still find myself telling him to slow down, and not push - because no deadlines, no clock to punch. He's a stubborn old man (65) and a thorn in my side at times.

Hank70SS 08-03-2015 09:46 AM

Have not been there, have not done that. So don't know anything about it, just wanted to say good luck.

mestorod70 08-12-2015 09:20 PM

Did the cat scan and dye thing last thursday....that was fun.
Wow when the dye comes it sure is a hot flash moment.
anyway im seing the doc on monday to hear the news..lol.
Funny thing is they only did the lower torso and not the whole body.
Perhaps hearing your heart pounding in your ears is no big deal.
anyway still working on the car.

Hank70SS 08-13-2015 05:46 PM

I've had the dye for other X-rays, does give you a warm flush. What I had you could also taste it, tasted like onions. Good luck, hope all goes well and they get your plumbing cleaned out. If not, there's always Mr. Rooter. :D

Hank70SS 08-20-2015 03:59 PM

So what's up. Hope the doc had some good news for you.

^^^^ This....

FYI...the last nuclear stress test I had this past Spring I happened to be flying out of town the next day on a vacation.
I had to carry a note from my physician stating I had just completed that test.
Evidently, passing thru certain TSA checkpoint machines you can trigger a alarm warning indicating a "dirty bomb". They told me I'll show up "Hot" for 72 hrs after the stress test. :o

mestorod70 08-21-2015 12:10 PM

Im having another cat with dye done on my neck.
The doc is woried about the carotid arteries being blocked
will know more next week.

mestorod70 09-04-2015 01:53 PM

Quick update.
Left neck arterie is 90% blocked.
Will be having surgery in the hospital in the very near future.

The only stroke i want is in my engine.
