Mr. Beckman

Ric, you have a email.

RBeckman 08-09-2015 10:24 AM

I have no email if it is about back to bricks parking they are suppose to sent me the final instructions tomorrow and I will then forward. Relax they do this every year.

Ken Hayes 08-09-2015 10:37 AM

Just saw it didn't go through. This is what I sent.

Ric, I have a good friend with a 70 Butternut SS and built big block that would like to join us in Flint. Would it be ok if he followed me there and parked with us? This would be his first time going to Flint and he and his wife are excited to go.

See if I have these directions right (goin by memory........no police escort this time):

75 to 475 (north) to Longway (west) changes into 5th St.
Go to Garland (left) changes into Beach St.
Under viaduct (left) onto Union St.
Straight ahead and we're there.

Do those sound right?

RBeckman 08-09-2015 10:48 AM

Yes that will be fine, we have extra spots from our Canada friends who only are bring 6 cars this year. I will send out detail directions to come in the back but then I see you may already have it correct but for some reason it did not work for you last year. I have to re study the map.

Ken Hayes 08-09-2015 11:17 AM

What happened last year is I missed tellin Judy to turn under the viaduct. We ended up on some side road with that cop right behind us..........even she was lost and had to radio someone else to help her.

RBeckman 08-10-2015 06:27 PM

Ken,

Just put a piece of paper on your dash that say Team Chevelle Union and Saginaw St and you will be all set. The directions you have are the best way to get in to avoid all the others, we will be there at 5am so anytime after 6 you should have no issues.

Hank, are you coming?

Hank70SS 08-11-2015 06:50 AM

Ken I have the info and windshield sign Ric sent last year. I can email to you if you send me your email address.

Ken Hayes 08-11-2015 11:56 AM

Here ya [email protected]

Thanks Hank

Ms Grumpy 08-11-2015 08:30 PM

Could I get an e-mail too with the sign for my dash ?
[email protected]

Hank70SS 08-12-2015 07:12 AM

It's on it's way Nancy.

RBeckman 08-12-2015 07:38 AM

Thanks Hank, I have been traveling and now home for the week so I can get caught up. Are you coming this year? Tony, where you going to be this year?

So far we have if Hank goes;

5 Chevelles (Ric, Hank, Nancy, Ken and Friend)
1 Ford Hot Rod (Eric)
2 Impala SS's (Jack and friend)
1 Henry J (Mike)
1 Rat Rod (Mike's brother)

Eric and I will be there at 5:00 am to hold our spots and anyone should be able to get in per the back way anytime but the main entrances open at 6:00 am. No need to bring tent as we are next to a covered area of the bank on one side and trees in the common area on the other. There will be plenty of food and drink though out the city. I heard they are expecting over 4,000 cars downtown for this event.

We have 10 spots and it is tight with 10 cars, but our friends from Canada who also have 10 spots are only bring 5 cars so we should be comfortable in parking.

The Rolling Cruise starts tonight from Grand Blanc to Flint (approx. 10 miles) for the next 3 nights and Friday night they moved the Concert from downtown Flint to the GM Metal center in Grand Blanc on the lawn area.

Hank70SS 08-12-2015 03:50 PM

I'll be there Ric. Tried to get Ray to come but he's such a goof. Drives his Chevelle all over town 3-4 times a week but won't come to Back to the Bricks. I'll call him tomorrow and try again but not counting on it. He's such a goof, did I mention that. Called him last week Thursday to see if had my nail gun. He shows up at my house Sunday and says "You called?" Yea, did you listen to my voice mail? "No". I probably mentioned it before but he's such a goof.

FlintTony 08-12-2015 06:02 PM

I'll be there sometime in the morning. Not bringing a car again this year. I'm sorta reverting to my old "hate people more everyday" self. I'm still mad that bastard let his dog piss on my wheel 2 years ago. Will look you guys up. Looking forward to seeing you guys. I don't think that I'll do any of the cruising again either. Just no fun to sit in traffic, working the clutch a zillion times a mile.

Signs of getting old there Tony...I hate stupid people and they are multiplying every time I go out.

No, you're just less tolerant of stupid people now. Better get use to it, majority of people are pretty stupid and you can't fix stupid.

Hank70SS 08-13-2015 02:24 PM

Ray won't be there, didn't think he would.

Make sure you come and see us you cranky old bas^*). Also looking forward to seeing you. Next stop Frankenmuth.

RBeckman 08-13-2015 08:04 PM

Just got back from the rolling cruise and I have to say some people should not be allowed to reproduce. I'm so sick of hearing the loud thump thump bass these idiots put into their cars and have to play it full blast in bumper to bumper traffic.

Ken Hayes 08-13-2015 08:24 PM

Ric, didn't Eric have that 34 Ford last year? Did it have wheelie bars on it? If so, I saw him on Woodward yesterday. We both looked at each other with that kinda look of "I know you". Hope that rain holds off for Saturday.

Yes that is him, he said he developed a coolant leak while down there and is working on it today. He had a 69 Chevelle before that with a 496 that he sold last year.

Hank70SS 08-14-2015 07:45 PM

Eric had a coolant leak last year when went to Frankenmuth. Tony had one last year too, must be something with those Fords.

Yeah he thought he fixed it by putting on a aluminum water pump and redoing something's but he said it came back on Woodward and I'm sure he was running it hard.

Hank70SS 08-17-2015 08:30 AM

Ric, just wanted to say thanks. Back to the Bricks was great as usual. Our spots were perfect. Out of the sun, cool breeze coming through, so thanks again.

Ken Hayes 08-17-2015 10:00 AM

Ditto on what Hank said.

RBeckman 08-17-2015 02:13 PM

Glad you guys could make it up and I know it is a long drive for you Ken but it also is a testament on how good it is if you go right by Woodward and come to Flint.

Back to Bricks kind of started out as a anti Woodward event as it was getting so hard to even cruise Woodward and has grown to over 5000 cars in the 11 years. This was my 8th year for Back to Bricks.

I still tell people you have to at least do Woodward once in a lifetime as it is unbelievable.

I agree, you need to experience it at least once. Nothing it the world like. But if you have a car cruising is like sitting in a parking lot with the engine running. Got really old after a few years.
