What ya doing this weekend?

So what is everyone up to this weekend. My car is still in the "shop" so I will be working all weekend.

Anyone doing anything exciting?

Derek69SS 03-26-2010 07:39 PM

Since my wife works next weekend, we're celebrating Easter this weekend.

My brother-in-law just got a new 9mm a couple weeks ago, and I bought a 1911 today, so we're going to do some target shooting. :)

Hank70SS 03-26-2010 08:06 PM

My great aunt, will be 98 in June, has been dieing to go to Hamtramck for dinner. So we're going over to her house on Sunday then going to Hamtramck for dinner with her and my uncle. Of course they're both coming to our house on Easter.

Saturday I may pull the intake on the Chevelle. It's sucking oil around one of the gaskets. Ordered new UCA's but they won't be here for a week or so, already pulled the old ones and the bushings out of the housing. Can't drive it so might as well tear something else apart.

" Can't drive it so might as well tear something else apart."

Love it !!

Heading to NYC in the morning...

flash 03-26-2010 08:37 PM

Wife and I are yard saleing tommorrow ,our second favorite activity next to anything car related . Church early Sunday morning, then drive the Elky to Chattanooga Tenn. for our Chevelle Club meeting (Peachstate Chevelles ). We want to drive our 72 vert up there but not much point of that as it is going to rain again.

grandsport 03-26-2010 08:38 PM

The wife and daughter will be at a show all weekend and I'll be looking forward to working on my yard .I know, nothing exciting but I enjoy it.

Not exciting but sometimes relaxing. I don't mind getting on the mower and cutting the lawn, we have about 1.5 acres so it takes awhile. That's if I can beat Lynda to it, she likes cutting the grass when it's sunny and warm out.

Not to stir up that other post but that's what I like about working on the Chevelle. I don't think about all the other crap, just what I'm doing. So I may ache like hell when I'm done, getting too old for that stuff, but I actually feel better overall.

grandsport 03-26-2010 09:30 PM

Ok,Hank. So you're one of them that can work on your Chevelle,I get it.:ntwrthy:

Beano30 03-26-2010 09:46 PM

Working 10 hrs then gonna drop the gas tank on wifes car :( bad fuel pump.I should just pay to have it done but I'm bull headed.I was trying to finish my disc brake swap but it's on the back burner now :(

Highway Star 03-26-2010 09:51 PM

Mowing the back yard on my wheelie pulling snapper riding mower. :D

Putting my new cam in, too.

Chevelle_Nut 03-26-2010 10:00 PM

Ummm, putting a new cam in the lawn mower? :D

Bowtie-Bri 03-26-2010 11:23 PM

Hank,
I know what you mean. It was so much easier when I was younger working on the Chevelle. I feel good working on it, but the day after, my body reminds me I not getting any younger. I'll probably be working on the car Saturday.
Took the hood off, removed the inner fender wells and strip the engine down and repaint everything in the engine comp. next fall the engine is coming out!

Sunday church & more rain. I think I'll send it all to Gary. :D
I will find something to in the house. The car is in storage until I can get my mother in laws stuff out of the garage at a garage sale which will hopefully be in the next week or so.

Why do you hate me ?:D I hope the rain holds off till Sunday night.

Trying to finish up replacing the intake gaskets on my 98 4x4 chevy truck. I am also building new gates for the fence around our yard. I want to squeeze a couple nice bike rides in and also a run each day if I can get to it.

So much to do and so little time to do it.

Jeff

It is so neat reading everyones posts, so many described a "chore" they were going to do and then they put in something about working on their car. For those of you who were going to a cruise..I will say...I am jealous. I spend a little time each day dreaming....

So heres looking at tommorrow another 10-12 hour day and 40 minute drive each way...what a life....

Sean 03-27-2010 05:10 PM

Worked today, but if it's nice tomorrow, taking the Chevelle to the strip for a few passes!

Ms Grumpy 03-27-2010 05:16 PM

I am jealous !!!!!!

grandsport 03-27-2010 06:43 PM

I might take my SS for a few passes too! But that would be my street,my neighbors already know I'm wacked so it's no big deal.Waving

Ms Grumpy 03-27-2010 07:07 PM

OK... OK..... I am really jealous.... We love pics if you take your ride out.

Seeb 03-28-2010 07:31 AM

Rakin, blowin, fertilizing, cutting, splitting.....and some garage organizing, then a couple advils.;)

grumpy 03-28-2010 07:48 AM

Rainy and crappy here but the kids and I are thinking of heading to the zoo.

Chevelle_Nut 03-28-2010 08:37 AM

The 69 loved its cruise yesterday, we went about 100 miles and it was great. We had a police escort, blew through red lights and opened the cars/bikes up on the 65 zone, all legally!

Sean 03-28-2010 10:28 AM

Rain in the forecast, story of my life right there.....

I did get out for a few hours last night...but it's just not the same!

shadowgray396 03-28-2010 12:57 PM

I am off this friday and next monday so im going to wash the elky and 72 vert and go cruising a little. Then I have to come back home and clean out some junk in my shop while the cars are out of the way.May even find time to mow the grass and do some house cleaning for the wife. Then I might just have to go for another cruise in the vert.

BillsCamino 03-31-2010 08:48 PM
