Are we buying squares, or just picking a date? Is the tie breaker if we guess who it is? Is this a drinking game?

I like the way you think.

madspaniard 04-30-2010 11:53 AM

this could work. let's start some rules. This can be across boards too just to drink more.

1. drink every time someone else mentions Pacificas
2. 2 drinks for every Waving posted by someone else just to get Grandsport to respond.

I don't know, he started this post. I was just trying to make him happy by being mad at him, but I could only stay mad for a few seconds.

The numbers are going up steadily, they just arent posting in the introductions area unfortunately.

I have seen some sites that when you register they ask right away for the new member to make an introduction, maybe we need that here? I kind of like it, at least that way the people lose their "posting virginity" right away and may feel more at ease to post

I hope I will feel more comfortable posting someday. I am a very shy person.Waving The wave is really my security blanket.

grandsport 04-30-2010 09:05 PM

Very good thank you. I am riding typically about 25 miles per day during the week and then doing anywhere between 50 and 70 mile rides on the weekends. I also have taken up running, which I have found to be an excellent way to cross train. My aerobic capacity has gone up incredibly and the power in my legs has as well from the running. So on top of the cycling I now also run 3 miles a day. May 22 I am doing my first 5K running race actually. I know I cant win, but I will be happy to finish anywhere in the pack.

The running has had an amazing effect on my legs, climbing hills with the bike used to be something I dreaded, now I look forward to them and power my way up.

I cant wait for the 150 miler, well actually it will be a 175 miler. I should be 100% ready for it no problem. That ride is July 24th and 25th, then on Aug 22 I am doing a race here called "Race the Lake" and its a 98 mile bike race around the big lake in wisconsin called lake winnebago.

It really does. I have never been a runner, hated it actually. I started doing it, gritted my teeth for a few weeks of running and have come to really enjoy it now. One of the biggest things I have found is good running shoes, without them running is a nightmare.

Its funny, basically running and cycling use most of the same muscles, but uses them in diffrent ways and builds them up better. The running seems to push me harder aerobically, which is great, my ability to climb hills or power down long straights has gone up very well. My legs are plenty strong to do what I have tod do, but my lungs and heart are the weak points, the running is taking care of that problem for me as well.

I still weight train every other day as well, but my bigger focus these days is on building aerobic capacity and pushing my lactic threshold back as far as possible.

Jeff
