I made a job decision.

After a few rough months of going back and forth on what to do with my life,I decided to stay at the dealership and scrap the plans to move ahead on my own. After many talks with the owner, who didn't want me to leave, he made me an offer I couldn't pass up.Besides giving me complete control of the store,I took in lieu of a pay increase, a 5 year buyout plan in which I will own the business.Real estate not included of course. It is going to be a challenge, but if I can overcome a few hurdles and fill in some of the cracks where money leaks out,I stand a good chance. The business has been around 32 years with a great reputation,so what price do you put on the name? The next 6 months will tell me if I made the right choice, but for now the wife and I feel good about it. As far as my backer on the other deal goes,I didn't burn a bridge but there is a small fire under it..........

Gary,
It sounded like you had a lot of internal turmoil about what you were going to do. I wish you the best of luck on your decision.

Does that mean that you will continue to be our official greeter? You would be too hard to replace.

I was never back and forth so much on a decision in my life,it was no fun at all.

And yes,I will still be in MY office which I really like a lot.:) Waving

Gary, I wish you the best in this adventure. I have a feeling if anyone can make this work you can. Just make sure everything is in writing and reviewed by a lawer. Friend or no friend this is a business deal. Good luck my friend

Thanks,Ray. Right or wrong,I'm finally glad the decision is made. Probably came off as a real jerk, changing week to week..... Believe it or not,it was a few little perks that I now get that helped make the decision.:)

And yes,it will be in writing.

Good luck Gary, I'm sure it will work out good for you. The business name with a longstanding good reputation can be worth more than all the physical assets.

Very cool Gary, its nice just having a decision made isnt it? Far too much stress involved in things like this, once the decision is made life can resume some degree of normality again

You think you made a decision or you think you're glad?

Well you made it and that is good, you can second guess yourself to death if you let it, my advice is to sit back and  and enjoy yourself.

I'm not a physiologist, but I play one on the Forum boards.

Enjoying myself was one of the deciding factors. I do have fun at work.

A physiologist that prescribes drinks, works for me.

Then you have it made my friend. Most people can only hope to enjoy work. I think that's why they call it work instead of play.

All those therapy sessions haven't done me any good Ric, I'm still pretty messed up.

Times 1000!! I wouldn't want to be normal; if I was normal I wouldn't drive a Camino and I would most likely swear less too....
