Anyone else hate central air?

I knew it would be on when I got home tonight.:( Call me weird, but I hate air conditioning in the house. My feeling is ,we are closed up all winter it is nice to have the windows open for a change. I tolerate the heat very well,my wife on the other hand:eek:

I'm in the same boat Gary, I hate Air conditioning and would not even have it if it was not for my wife.

Right now,I am under the covers with the windows open. I'm trying to warm the bedroom up.

We dont have central air ,we use window units to cool only the areas we need. We use the unit in the bedroom year-round as we like the sound of it better than the coyotes howling. We do have central heat but dont use it as I have many acres of dying timber that I use to fuel our fireplace insert.Plus Im cheap.

No central air here, of course it would be nice if we could get above 60 here. We set a new new record high low yesterday at 59. I'm ready for summer, would love to go out and open up the garage to work on the car. Been raining for over two weeks here. Lawn is getting long.

Man, I gotta have AC! I have it in the garage, as well as the house. I keep it pretty cool too. I'm a cave dweller.

I prefer to have the house open but after a certain point the air has to go on. We've been in the upper 80s for the last few days with plenty of humidity, air went on 2 days ago.

Yes, I would rather open some windows if I have a nice cross breeze.

I can't live without my ac !

We did not get central air until about 4 years ago. We always had window air conditioners. But with a work schedule that required me to wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning, it was just really starting to cool down by the time I was having to get up. Alot of times I would get maybe 3 hours of sleep before a 10 hour day, salary sucks.

I love my A/C !!! Can't imagine life without it.

Exactly!! Couldn't survive without it down here...it was 93 on my way into work this afternoon.

Ms Grumpy 05-28-2010 08:02 PM

93..ouch..and add any humidity to that, and trying to get any sleep. It just doesn't happen.

Don't get me wrong, we love to have the windows open, but it just ain't happening.

grandsport 05-28-2010 08:30 PM

If you guy can believe this,I am actually friendlier in the heat! Waving

Derek69SS 05-28-2010 09:47 PM

AC keeps the humidity down so my ammo stockpiles stay dry. :)

I dont mind the heat too much at all, as I simply hate cold, but I cant sleep at all when its hot. I like to be under covers and the central air makes that happen. Trying to sleep under nothing more than a sheet is a useless venture for me, sleep just wont happen like that.

I remember before the central air, used to take a spray bottle filled with water and mist the sheets. This used to help cool me down to be able to get a little sleep.
