I hope I die before I get old.

Well, here is my weekly vent session but after 3 weeks I changed venues.:)It just seems like the start of the weekend is the worst,I really can't work anymore hours because I'm just plain tired but being home is really getting me down.Seeing what my wife is going through with her mother and how it is affecting her healthwise and financially and putting aside the relationship factor, just ain't right. I have told Lindsay many times that I will never be a burden on her,and if I can't joke around and do stoopid things in my car and be happy, life ain't worth living. She told me,"you are too cool of a dad to do that",God I hope she's right. As I have been told by many it's better to vent here and support my wife and keep quiet, but it is really tough not being able to be myself at home.

Vent away Gary. If we are your weekly session, then so be it. We don't mind.

Been there, done that. Bring it here bud, we'll help you shoulder it. You have to be strong for Maureen.

Family is definately what we are about, and we are here for ya.

grandsport 06-04-2010 07:49 PM

I feel like I have real friends on both sites and it just seems easier to talk here, which I really appreciate. Sure I have "friends",but do I really want to be out all the time ? No way,but it seems like that's the way things are headed......

We all have to go through some tough times now and then, that's part of life. If your friends can't help you through it, even if just means listening, than I guess they're not really friends. We'll listen.

Hang in there Gary ,vent all you want .You are surrounded by friends that care about you and your family.I have been where you are at and it is the toughest thing to go through. But you are not alone and venting will help more than you know.

Thanks, guys. On top of everything else,I am Pacificaless. I sold it last week and can't find another.

Gary,

Your friends will always allow you to vent and not be judgmental.
Your a good guy and sometimes we all need to vent so we do not take our frustrations out on the wrong people.

After you get it all out go play with the kids and the dogs and tell your family how much you love them for just being who they are.

Things will get better, at least that is what I keep getting told. :)

I'm in my fortress of solitude now.:) Good thing I enjoy my work.

As to the title of the thread I cannot see myself getting or being old but I think about it a lot. I turn 48 this year and I cannot see myself old; I guess it depends on what type of old I become that’s important. I see people in their 60's that look like 90 and then I see people who are 90 that look like they are in their 50's. I hope by trying to stay a kid at heart just maybe I'll be in the second group, but knowing my luck I'll be in the first group and will be too weak to end it while I still can. I agree old is not for me; I saw my dad suffer from COPD until it killed him. All I can say is I think I’ll pass.

grandsport 06-07-2010 02:25 PM

I agree.I don't want to be bedridden and suffering.
