65 chevelle black or ???
 

Hello ,
Well I mentione dthat in about 1 month time the car will be going to bodyshop http://tachtuning.com/ ,,, sorry guys the site is in french but the pics are all in english ;-) I was thinking of painting my chevelle black, interior will be black as well.... any suggestions or comments appreciated,,, also does anyone here have a black 65 ? Thanks agin. the car is currently blue..

I may not have the same year Chevelle. But I just had mine painted black, and I love it. But like I was told when I started asking the same question about painting mine. Go with what you like, you are the one who will have to live with the car everyday. Go with your gut.

My car is black x3 and I love it! Being I have no life,I enjoy keeping it clean.:p

Black it is then, that was my first choice. I cant wait till its all done and finished!! Then i'll enjoy it.

Car just got towed today to bodyshop,,, I'll be posting pictures as we progress !

Crankshaft why don't you post your pics here. It is simple. And instant gratification is what we look forward to.

Just wanted to mention , I recieved my new dash bezel w/o ac . My existing bezel has the opening for a/c vents( which is missing ) and the 2 holes at the corner of dash for a/c vents (also missing ), so I ordered a new bezel. I also told my bodyshop to close up the 2 holes at the dash. seeing as this car will never have a/c again.
Its coming along fine,, slowly , but he works good. Besides , i'm in no hurry to get it back, id rather wait , and have good work done to it. Yes, some work was done to the rear right quarter panel (had some rott there ).

The end will justify the means.

i forgot to mention,, its getting done in black, that we all know, bodyshop dude says get the engine compartment in flat black ... what do you all think ? I think it would be cool !

Black is not a good color for me as it is too much work but it is beautiful. I have a black 67 SS396 Chevelle visiting my garage now awaiting its ride to California that is absolutely amazing .A really nice car ,even 4 speed .

The hammer came down today when the bodyshop called to say " I got some bad news " front fenders are waved and full of plastic. He says I should replace. Now I searched for these fenders,,, WOW !!! they sure don't give them away !!!

just an update on my car. It's been at the bodyshop for quite some time now. Well, it's coming along now, and should be done by mid next month. Picked up 2 used front fenders , all body work is done, just needs to re-install all parts and paint. I wasn't in hurry to get it done , but I am now very anxious to get it back so I can start some work. Why so long ??? Because I told the bodyshop that I wasn't in a hurry and to take his time in doing the job proper and not to rush it. I learned to never say that to a bodyshop ever again !!

It has been a long time. Make sure you post some pics of the new paint job.

Glad it is finally starting to come together man. You have to be stoked. Do you have a good detail kit? What about nice, soft microfiber towels? You're going to need that stuff.

Nice. You will have fun cleaning it,but you can't beat a black car.My favorite time is when the sun is starting to set on it.

What kind of tires and rims are you looking to put on it ?

14" supersport rims and original style tires. Don't think that is going to happen this year,as I am way over what I set aside to do my engine and chassis. I will post new progress pics this weekend.

well next step is almost done, wet sand and polish.
