New project

Looks like I bought a 34 Ford sedan body and frame. Chopped top devil. Should be here from California around the 24th.

Damn Tony, don't you have enough toys? Did you sell the 69 yet?

FlintTony 06-10-2010 04:29 PM

I'm thinkin a guy can never have too many toys. I didn't sell the 69. In fact, I didn't really want to sell it in the first place! I just got a hair up my ass about building a shop in Florida and thought that would be a good start if I sold it. I have come to my senses for a while. I'm keeping it. I'm not sure which direction I'm going on the 34. Thinking a 4" channel , blown Hemi, 4 speed job.

Hank70SS 06-10-2010 05:54 PM

Sounds like a sweet project Tony. If you need any help I work cheap, just ask Ric. Oh sure you can probably get an illegal immigrant to work for less, but what do they know about muscle cars.

shadowgray396 06-10-2010 06:11 PM

Now that looks like that would be a fun project.
Ray

Cool car Tony. You must have a big garage.

grandsport 06-10-2010 06:41 PM

Are you married with children?

RBeckman 06-10-2010 08:25 PM

Tony, looks like a cool project and looks like a pretty good price. If you need a 4 speed I have the B/W T10 that was completely rebuild about 2500 miles ago by Phil's Transmission in Clio and have the clutch and pressure plate with the same amount of miles on them.

If you sell the Nomad I'm interested....you can borrow it anytime to take the dogs for a ride.

Ray Barnes 06-11-2010 03:01 PM

I sat in front of my computer searching for some kind of cool responce and came up blank.

I gotta check it out when you get it.

Hank70SS 06-11-2010 03:18 PM

Ray, there's a guy in Goodrich with a balancer for $10. Probably 7", from 71-72 Chevelle. 248-240-0062

FlintTony 06-11-2010 03:59 PM

Here I am Ray. Mrs. Grumpy, the shop is pretty good sized, but it's pretty full.
I have everthing worked out on shipping the new junk here from Cal. I have a line on a 1957, 392 Hemi that was built by Jr. Thompson.
Been real busy the last couple of days. Heading out to Davison now for the cruise. Will check in later!

FlintTony 06-11-2010 07:22 PM

Hey Ric...I have an extra trans here and I am getting an M21 with the Hemi. Looks like the guy that is picking up the Ford will be able to drag the boat anchor (AKA hemi) back at the same time. Couple of weeks and it should all be here.

chevguy65 06-11-2010 07:25 PM

Sounds like fun...

RBeckman 06-11-2010 07:25 PM

Tony...that is cool I can't wait to see it as I know you will make it a Tony Original....waiting for the answer on the Mad Gasser..lol

Come up today and take it for a spin. I'll show you the folder on it. You will be shocked at how much I spent on the junker! Of course, everything has a price, so bring a big-ass checkbook!

FlintTony 06-12-2010 05:14 AM

Here's a link to the Hemi ad. If you have a little time, do a search on Jr. Thompson and Joe Reath. This should be one bad-ass engine.

FlintTony 06-24-2010 08:58 AM

Got the new junk here last night. You guys wanna come up sat or sun for the Sloan car show? You can swing by here and poke fun at the junker!

RBeckman 06-25-2010 09:36 AM

Tony,

I have a very busy weekend ahead of me with my Daugter competing in a Horse show in Owosso on Saturday and my son and he girlfriend are here from San Franciso and we are having a family gathering for them on Sunday and hopfully he can lend me a hand on getting my car back together since that is what he wants when I get to old to enjoy...lol

I hope this is open inventation as I would love to come and see it and maybe get Hank and Ray to go as well..

Is it all you expected? or is it a bigger job than you bargined for?

Ray Barnes 06-25-2010 09:46 AM

Hey Ric,
I just got off the horn with Tony. I let him tell you more about the new car, but sounds like its going to be a long term project. I'm in... to go a and check it out . I have my daughters this weekend and it will be tought to find the time, but maybe we can make next weekend.

RBeckman 06-25-2010 02:12 PM

Ray,

I'm good for next weekend sometime. Let me know.

Ric

FlintTony 06-25-2010 03:43 PM

You guys are welcome anytime. Just figger out when you're coming and give me a call. Beings as I'm retired and all, I can pretty much be here anytime.
The body is a little better than I expected it to be. The frame, not looking too good rite now. I'll know more after I get the body off. The engine looks killer! Lots of nice parts with the deal too.

Hank70SS 06-25-2010 05:31 PM

Ric, Ray just let me know when. I'm basically retired too so I can make it work.

Ray, thought you were going up to the show in St. Ignace tomorrow.

FlintTony 06-25-2010 05:48 PM

Hey Ric...My niece is also in that horse show. Her name is Sabrina.

RBeckman 06-25-2010 09:14 PM

Hank and Ray...I was just told by my wife that Saturday is no good as I will have to be in BayCity with her.

Tony, do you know who she is with..School system, barn name, 4-H? we were out there today and about 150 kids with Horses....we think we have money in our cars, some of these family are there in 300K motor homes pulling 30K horse trailers, and then there is me with 8K truck pulling a 5K trailer...

FlintTony 06-26-2010 04:31 AM

Hey Ric...I think she is a loner. They just have a simple truck and trailer, nothing fancy. She really enjoys her horse.

Tony we are too, there were 4 girls out there with us and they all have horses at the same barn we do..My daughter loves it and it keeps her focused on the horse and jumping instead of 16 year old boys and it is all worth it to me but someday I will have the extra cash for another car.

FlintTony 08-17-2010 03:36 AM

Heading to Cleveland this morning to pick up the new frame from Lobecks. Time to get something done on this junker!

Hank70SS 08-17-2010 06:55 AM

Will it be ready for Frankenmuth? :D

FlintTony 08-17-2010 05:54 PM

I'tll be close!!!!
